I like Donovan at RCF, nice cross in the box and just missed.
August 10th, 2011 at 9:21 PM ^
Going with the 1-11 with no names on the back.
August 10th, 2011 at 9:23 PM ^
Didn't notice that till now. Classic, I like it. The team seems more settled on Defense early on.
August 10th, 2011 at 9:22 PM ^
Ok this if freaking ridiculous. Get these kids off of ESPN2, the game is over.
August 10th, 2011 at 9:23 PM ^
Am I the only one getting LLWS instead of USA v Mexico?
August 10th, 2011 at 9:24 PM ^
Its on ESPNews until this game gets over with.
August 10th, 2011 at 9:24 PM ^
Np, everyone is.
August 10th, 2011 at 9:24 PM ^
Tune to Univision.
August 10th, 2011 at 9:29 PM ^
SoccerByIves Interesting note of the night: USA lineup has as many Mexican League players as Mexican national team lineup. Safe 2 say that has NEVER happened before.
August 10th, 2011 at 9:29 PM ^
Wow got lucky on that one. Looks like we still need GM to help coach the defense for the USMNT. At least they are clearing the ball instead of passing to a mexican player in front of goal.
August 10th, 2011 at 9:30 PM ^
Whoever is playing left back needs to be taken out immediately. He is geeting us killed.
August 10th, 2011 at 9:32 PM ^
Castillo needs to get back. Also it doesn't help that Beckerman is doing lots of standing around on dead balls.
August 10th, 2011 at 9:31 PM ^
1-0 Mexico.... Really a bad bounce for the US. Good defending by Bradley yet still found the back of the net.
August 10th, 2011 at 9:31 PM ^
gooooooooooollllllllll!!!!!!
August 10th, 2011 at 9:31 PM ^
...sucks.
August 10th, 2011 at 9:32 PM ^
Wow, good goal. 0-1. Have to mute Andres Cantor on that one though.
August 10th, 2011 at 9:32 PM ^
Mexico's pressing off the ball is killing the Nats. Can't work the ball around nearly fast enough
August 10th, 2011 at 9:37 PM ^
....ESPN2.
August 10th, 2011 at 9:38 PM ^
Someone please explain to me why Beckerman is on this team? He is freaking awful. He doesn't try to win balls back, stands around all the time, and gives the ball up way too easily. Waste of space out there.
August 10th, 2011 at 9:42 PM ^
He wouldn't be playing if Edu didn't get hurt. I think his dreads are slowing him down. Sorry Beckerman not everyone can have awesome dreads and be fast like Denard.
August 10th, 2011 at 9:43 PM ^
How does no one get a card there?
August 10th, 2011 at 9:45 PM ^
it's just a friendly...
August 10th, 2011 at 9:54 PM ^
Our guys look so timid on the attack. Somebody needs to step up and take it to Mexico and create something.
August 10th, 2011 at 9:55 PM ^
Nice to join you all for another USMNT match.
Christ, we could stand to possess the ball a bit. But my expectations for this match aren't very high.
I think Klinsmann is giving chances to a lot of guys, and his long term approach will pay off.
August 10th, 2011 at 10:06 PM ^
This is a very experimental lineup without much attacking prowess. I hope there are some changes at the half.
August 10th, 2011 at 9:59 PM ^
well, it can't get much worse then being dominated by your rival at home, so nowhere to go but up for Klinsman.
August 10th, 2011 at 10:01 PM ^
Didn't realize there were so many soccer fans here
August 10th, 2011 at 10:06 PM ^
you've been on this forum for almost two years and haven't noticed this?
August 10th, 2011 at 10:04 PM ^
If Castillo ever gets another call up to the USMNT, Klinsmann needs to be fired on the spot. This guy is pathetic. His club is probably happy he got called up because he isn't with them playing like trash. He is so bad at so many aspects of the game, I'm not even going to waste my time posting them all. Seriously, he may be one of the worst players I have ever seen.
August 10th, 2011 at 10:05 PM ^
at least he isn't Bornstein? I would like to see Lyod in the second half. Also, is anyone else surprised Adu isn't even on the bench?
August 10th, 2011 at 10:06 PM ^
Beckerman is having a terrible game as well. We have issues at left back, lichaj might be our best option.
August 10th, 2011 at 10:08 PM ^
wow i just poseted talking about this sorry sack. Let somebody else get the run in the second half. Pathetic
August 10th, 2011 at 10:09 PM ^
Double Post
August 10th, 2011 at 10:16 PM ^
you've clearly never seen Robbie Findley play if Castillo is the worst you've ever seen.
August 10th, 2011 at 10:06 PM ^
Im sorry Edgar Castillo (number 2) sucks big time he has played terrible crosses has gotten lucky on a couple of occasion with his clears and he has played at least three balls out of bounds that could have been played foward.
His audition needs to end.
August 10th, 2011 at 10:15 PM ^
The higher yours are, the the worse for you.
Something about the modern era breeds high expectations. With expectations comes entitlement. Perhaps no greater criticism could be levelled against modernity.
Perspective, bitches, perspective.
All of you complainers based on this single match with an experimental roster demonstrate yourselves to be short-sighted children.
August 10th, 2011 at 10:23 PM ^
Or we are pointing out the obvious players that have no point of playing or being on the team.
August 10th, 2011 at 10:23 PM ^
I can understand the team as a whole not playing well since they only had 3 days if training together.

I'm just complaining about Beckerman and his general lack of awareness and competency.
August 10th, 2011 at 10:12 PM ^
This is the worst USMNT game I've seen in memory. Not only are we losing but it seems like we're just not doing anything....when we get the ball, just casually kicking it around in our own half rather than advancing it. They've been in Mexico's half of the field only like twice in the first half. How pathetic is that.
August 10th, 2011 at 10:16 PM ^
At least Ian Darke is doing the game
Got Univision on
August 10th, 2011 at 10:18 PM ^
Clearly the USA team needs Abby Wambach to score a header
August 10th, 2011 at 10:23 PM ^
none of the players on the field so far will be contributors in the future (near or distant) so I am really not concerned with their play.
Near future: not a chance any of these outfield guys sees significant playing time in the 2014 world cup
distant future: too much talent of the younger variety (Luis Gil, Josh Gatt, Marc Pelosi, Alejandro Guido, Conor Doyle...)
August 10th, 2011 at 10:30 PM ^
SOOOOOO close
August 10th, 2011 at 10:32 PM ^
fantastic description of Jermaine Jones.
August 10th, 2011 at 10:35 PM ^
My new assessment of Kyle Beckerman is that he is a poor man's Ricardo Clark
August 10th, 2011 at 10:38 PM ^
Brek Shea and Agudelo look bright for the US, hope these two become USMNT regulars soon.
August 10th, 2011 at 10:44 PM ^
We have players like Dempsey and Stu Holden that would make it hard for a player like Shea to see regular time.
August 10th, 2011 at 10:39 PM ^
August 10th, 2011 at 10:51 PM ^
Torres is the only midfielder who can hold possession and has lots of creativity going forward.
