Bad news for the gophers. Trevor Mbakwe tore his ACL on sunday against Dayton. ESPN link below

That's a darn shame. I love watching that kid play basketball. I was watching him for a bit against Dayton and was thinking this is sort of what McGary will bring to M next year. Huge loss for the Gophers

This sucks in all manner of ways, but selfishly I can say I'll miss watching him jump out of the gym this year. I can't think of anyone in the conference who has anything approaching his hops. Thank goodness that medicine has advanced to the point where kids can come back from this sort of thing without losing a whole lot. If Mbakwe adds a jump shot while he's working his way into shape, he'll play meaningful minutes at the next level.

He was a possible early-entry candidate last year, and chose to stay in school. Hopefully he can make a full recovery.

Yikes. There goes the gopher's season. This would be about as bad as Michigan losing Burke or TH Jr. Probably a bit worse.

Mbakwe is fun to watch. I want to see some more myself.

Good ball-player. Too bad for Minnesota as well. It seems that the Big Ten has had its fair share of knee injuries the past few years.

Big picture: That sucks. Hopefully he'll recover well and have a pro career. Poor Gophers, too.
Small picture: There, possibly, goes a win for the Big Ten in the upcoming ACC challenge.

Terrible for them. They can't catch a break.

But on another note, I go to UD and that was a big win for our BBall program for confidence purposes.

The people who make posters of Zack Novak getting dunked on are pissed about this.

He put on a hell of a show on Thanksgiving, and I was really looking forward to watching him play the rest of the season (when he isn't playing UM of course). I hope things work out for him down the road.
