Whoever that dumb fan was probably cost the Tigers this game. Why do you feel the need to intefere with a ball?
What exactly happened? I'm only tracking the game via gamecast, so I haven't seen video.
Dumbass fans, the team didn't call you up to play from Toledo to play today so don't touch a ball in play. This has to be Matt Moore's last inning or at least that's what I'm praying for.
JAckson ties it up!
WOOT Austin Jackson HR!!!
Home run Austin Jackson!! Tie game, bottom of the 7th!
Of all possible hitters to take one deep! Now tied up 2-2!!
I know it is early, but Jackson looks like a different player this year. He is taking his time and swinging on the pitches he wants. I am hoping he keeps up the good habits and has a special year.
I'm in the same boat as you. I don't want to jump the gun, but man, he's looking good. That at-bat where he hit the home run, he was down in the count 1-2, but he battled, showed patience, worked the count full, and hit it out on the 8th pitch. I know he's shown glimpses of that kind of ability in the past, but it's exciting to see it this early. Keep it up, Ajax!
Jackson again taking a 2 strike count and doing damage, what a great start he's off to this year.
Action Jackson!
Rod and Mario had just talked about how Moore hadn't shook off Molina all game long. After the pitching change they showed that Moore indeed did shake off Molina on the pitch that Jackson took deep. Ought to have listened to the vet, young rookie.
Coke in to pitch the 8th.
I think he is, for sure. He struggled today, yet limited the Tigers' offense to only 2 runs. Now, today's probably not the best day to use as an example, because of the cold weather, but I think he's totally legit. Unless he gets injured, I think he's a shoo-in for the AL ROY, and I think he's got Cy Young potential down the road.
Phil Coke is back!!
Phil Coke's brain with a solid 8th inning, if you don't follow his twitter than you are missing out on some pure comedic gold.
Prince solo HR for the lead. I am feeling it...
I'll take that, too....
How about a two-run shot? Cabby just led off with a double.
Tigers take the lead!
3-2 off a Prince Fielder RBI single, following Cabrera's leadoff double!
Get Papa Grande warm!!
I think this is how JL dreamed the season would start. Minus the Fister injury. Cabby and Prince doing work in the late innings and Austin on base all day long.
We need some insurance runs here!
good baserunnin' to avoid the DP there!
Nice job Jhonny!
Sac fly from Peralta: 4-2, good guys!
G$ with an RBI single 5-2 Tigers bottom 8, great swings this inning.
Every run matters.
and staying out of that DP leads to another run on the sacrifice fly by Peralta! Good fundamentals+good managerial decision pays off!
and as I'm typing the above, a bloop single plates yet another to make it 5-2
Listening to Mike and Mike this morning. Greenberg had a guest co-host on (Buster Olney) who said he favored Rays pitching against Tiger hitting today. It seems like Tiger hitting has the upper hand.
Time for Papa Grande to redeem himself. Let's go!
The Rays have their 7-8-9 hitters coming up. Don't make it any harder than it needs to be, Potato.
Papa Grande starts a brand-spanking new save streak
Awesome. We're 4-0, baby.
No Tigers starting pitcher even has a win yet. Been some dramatic baseball to start the season.
was pretty good today. I hope it's a sign of things to come for him.
That was almost TOO easy.
Great to see Papa Grande doing the dance. Tomorrow will put this streak to the test.
I was thinking the same thing. I forgot how awesome it was to watch papa grande do his jig.
He will be key this year. 1. They need his defense, badly. 2. Getting on base more mean more runs driven in by Cabby and Prince.
