OT: Tigers Impending Beatdown at Hands of A's
The Tigers are clearly going to get beat tonight against the A's.
Max Scherzer will be lucky to go 5 innings on his bum ankle.
Jim Leyland is putting strikeout machine Quentin Berry in the 2-spot.
The Tigers have 1 (!!!) RBI this series and clearly are a pathetic offense.
Jim Leyland doesn't bunt nearly enough. And don't give me "statistically he bunts more than most managers." When I played high school baseball, you always bunted the runner over to second, always. THAT'S THE WAY THE GAME SHOULD BE PLAYED.
Also, Jim Leyland will obviously either let Scherzer go too long in the game or will not let him go more than 110 pitches and either way it will be the wrong decision because OBVIOUSLY.
Also, the A's fans kick the Tiger's fans asses in terms of sign-making ability. This clearly has an effect on the field.
EDIT:
/s
I thought the sign comment made the /s redundant. Here's the translation for my quick thoughts on the game:
We need a big night out of Scherzer and I think he'll deliver.
I like that Berry is in and he's in the 2-spot. Even though I strongly dislike bunting, I think that if Jackson gets on, we'll see a sacrifice early. Get someone into scoring position and force them to either walk Cabrera or put two on base for Fielder. Otherwise: BOO BUNTING.
Also, reverse jinx, obvs.

you don't jinx my Tigers. Go to blazes anyway.

holy negativity, Batman!
October 10th, 2012 at 9:25 PM ^
I'm TOTALLY serious about the A's fans' signs playing a major role in the outcome of this game.
Also, this Baltimore/NYY game is pretty interesting.

You would be the best Sarcastaball player of all time.

Berry with a great at-bat in the 1st. Too bad it ended in a groundout, but he fouled off like 7 pitches. We needed that last night.

Oh, I see it now. They both have two arms!
October 10th, 2012 at 10:52 PM ^
And neither is a particularly good football coach.

35:1?
October 10th, 2012 at 10:09 PM ^
that 3 team trade which brought Scherzer and Jackson to the Tigs was one of Dombrowskis best deals.
October 10th, 2012 at 10:14 PM ^
Yup. That move, as well as Cabrera for Miller and Maybin, have been A+ moves. The Infante/Sanchez move is looking good too, but time will tell.
October 10th, 2012 at 10:20 PM ^
I like the Fister trade. We got him for Casper Wells, Furbush and bag of used baseballs.
October 10th, 2012 at 10:37 PM ^
Obligatory reminder that it was in fact the greatest trade of all time, as long as you call it the Fister-Furbush trade.

the tigers gave up granderson. he's only been a 40 plus homer guy since then. plus the tigers gave up the other jackson. i understand the trade, but the tigers would be obviously better with curtis in the lineup.
October 11th, 2012 at 8:25 PM ^
Sure Granderson hits 40 HR, but he does it in Coors East and his average has tanked. He's past his prime and AJax is reaching his.
October 10th, 2012 at 10:19 PM ^
Scherzer is dealing. 4ks through 2. A's looking very uncomfortable.
Lead off double for Avila! Bunt? I'd say no, but, man, the offense lately....

Woooooo
October 10th, 2012 at 10:20 PM ^
Woo! An RBI!!! AJax! Let's keep it going for the big bats and give Scherzer some breathing room!

October 10th, 2012 at 10:22 PM ^
is it me or should Berry be using a bit shorter and lighter bat?
October 10th, 2012 at 10:24 PM ^
What's up with the A's fans booing Cabrera? Is he not the epitome of a likable star?
October 10th, 2012 at 10:37 PM ^
with the other, less cuddly Cabrera?
I saw some negative comments on another, less knowledgeable and discerning website after an article about Cabrera's Triple Crown dissing him. The mention of steroids gave it away.

If you are still using anglefire there is no way your dial up connection can handle a stream.

Prince was due
October 10th, 2012 at 10:37 PM ^
I see ya Prince! I think Stoney (or WoJo) called that HR a few hours before the game.
October 10th, 2012 at 10:37 PM ^
man he has a quick bat...
October 10th, 2012 at 10:38 PM ^
"Shut that Ford cup"?
I'm sure I read JV's lips accurately, but I just don't get what he's trying to say...
October 10th, 2012 at 10:38 PM ^
So far...this game is why no one wants to play the Tigers right now... power and power, starting pitching and bat potential.
October 10th, 2012 at 10:39 PM ^
people dont talk enough about how good Andy Dirks is
October 10th, 2012 at 10:40 PM ^
Dude plays some good old timey baseball. Solid.
October 10th, 2012 at 10:39 PM ^
Holy crap, Griffin nearly got his head took off. That was close to some Herb Score stuff there.
October 10th, 2012 at 10:40 PM ^
Too bad Peralta can't sac bunt...
October 10th, 2012 at 10:44 PM ^
I am going to be pissed if Jhonny is on this team next year
October 11th, 2012 at 12:11 AM ^
October 10th, 2012 at 10:45 PM ^
Y U NO BUNT?!?
October 10th, 2012 at 10:48 PM ^
He physically can't bunt. I think Peralta was asked to bunt once this year (maybe it was last year) and it was one of the most pathetic looking things I've seen recently in baseball.
I will not be sad to see Jhonny go. He is no longer my Jhomeboy.

October 10th, 2012 at 10:48 PM ^
I know it was early, but wouldn't have minded seeing worth pinch hit so he could have layed down a bunt and stay in as a DR.
