OT: SVP & Russillo radio show over
The SVP & Russillo show on ESPN Radio aired for the final time today after six years. Scott Van Pelt is headed to do his own special midnight "SportsCenter," while Ryen Russillo will get his own radio show. It was arguably ESPN's best show on the air, the guys were level headed, very rarely spewing hot takes to the audience.
I didn't get them on local radio, though I would download the podcast and listen about everyday. Thought it was an excellent show and will miss it very much.
SVP & Russillo were one of the few shows I could stomach
I regularly listen to How Did This Get Made and The Dave and Chuck the Freak (detroit area morning show on WRIF) for my comedy podcasts. How Did This Get Made is really great, everyone should listen to the one they do on The Room.
Another comedy podcast I suggest is The Crabfeast. New episode every toozdee (Tuesday) and always funny. It's also been around for a long time so if you like there's a bunch of old episodes to catch up on
One last comedy pod I listen to religiously is The Full Charge Power Hour. FCPH is hosted by Matt "The Full Charge" Fulchiron (who actually started The Crabfeast before moving to NYC a few years ago). Can be hit or kiss but I've been listening to Fulchiron for a long time now and enjoy his work.
Tony does have a good show. A lot of DC sports as well as national coverage, movie reviews, politics, major pop culture stuff and no boring coach speak interviews.
Petro's voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard. He is even worse on colleg football broadcasts. Always seems to be shouting.

Was solid when I tuned in but I wasn't a regular listener.

The same way Skip Bayless and Stephan A Smith are a cash cow.

The dude is the biggest ass on TV... bigger than Matt Lauer or Nancy Grace or anyone else. SAS makes $3MM per year. Grrr.
During CFB season that's pretty much all the talk about. Russillo is an NBA guy so of course they're going to talk more NBA than they probably should, but during CFB season they're the only thing on ESPN not stroking the cack of the NFL.
If you like HQ, check out Dan's radio show. Rather fun.
Worst show on ESPN. That show is unwatchable and has zero substance. ESPN already has a show like this called PTI, but with people who actually know something about sports.

Collegiate golfer? Ergance?
And then you said you've never even listened. "Turned the station off as soon as I heard his voice"

Mike Golic is a mouth breather.

My favorite show on ESPN and it's not even close. Next best is Highly Questionable, not really for sports insight (although they do share the "common man's opinion" and not the bullshit ESPN tries to push - which I enjoy)...but because it's pretty funny.
ATH is boring - you know exactly what each person is going to say...PTI isn't nearly as good now that Tony and Mike are older, they're just out of touch.
It's time for ESPN to get more programming for the "common sports fan."
This. Highly Questionable is genius. The chemistry between Bomani and the LeBatards is perfect. Not to mention the athletes can actually let loose and be themselves.

Say what you will about the show, but I LOVED how SVP would get Kurkijan to nearly cry with his awful Baltimore accent impression.
