OT: Shanahan Replaces Campbell as Head of NHL Discipline
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=367566
While removing Campbell from this position is definitely a good thing, hopefully the NHL will actually reform the disciplinary process in its entirity.
Well, at the very least, Shanahan should bring some consistency to the process, which has been severely lacking lately.
I didn't realize Shanahan was still involved in the NHL to this degree. Hopefully he does a better job these next few years then we're accustomed to.
Shanny was the guy that came up the new all-star game format
Eh, this isn't that hard of a job, just apply the chart:
That's funny (as is your username). I think you might like http://www.nhlwheelofjustice.com , which is a little more high-tech.
Thanks!!
wooo!!! campbells head was too far up his ass to know what was going on.
Next on the block=bettman.
WIth ratings up, their big new $$ tv deal and our friends up north rightfully getting an under-performing southern team. He is having a strong start to the decade.
Hopefully Shanahan will be as good at properly dealing with discipline as he was at playing the game - still have great memories of him in a Wings uniform, helping us to 3 cups.
As a Devils fan, this is great news. Campbell had it out for the Devils, going back to his days as a Rangers coach.
I'd love to see some Shanny style discipline in the NHL. Good ol fashioned ass kickings from the man himself! Good luck Shanny. Good to see former Wings players doing well after their playing careers. Stevie Y has mad TB a force to be reckoned with in the East, Shanny is moving up the NHL corporate ladder (he was VP of Business development, right?) and Fischer seems to be doin' okay as a scout. A real testament to the franchise. GO WINGS!! Can't wait to see what the offseason entails for us.
Shanahan is a good and great man!
Pretty sure a lot of this has to do with potential conflicts of interest involving his son, Gregory. It makes sense for him to step down now, with his son in the Finals.
not punished. Too bad they're not in the league anymore.
has been involved with the NHL in various executive capacities almost since the day he retired from playing. He's always been a highly intelligent and thoughtful fellow and I think he'll do great.
Colin Campbell was a joke. There is a reason everyone would joke about him spinning the wheel of justice to figure out suspension length
