I'm sure this shirt is selling like hot cakes in Baton Rouge.
Wow, so you'd like to shower at Penn State, and then go root for Alabama? This is why, outside of Vandy, you won't see an SEC school come remotely close to a US News World Report Top Schools list.
Beyond that, this is the lowest of the low. What kind of pathetic scumbag had the nerve to create a shirt like this? I'd be willing to bet, however, you'd see the Honey Badger wearing this around campus. That self-centered shit has his head so far up his ass that its sickening.
of some two bit shirt printing operation. We have our own versions of this shirt; You can't miss them being peddled around the stadium on game days by guys with backpacks conceiling the unregistered product.........
yikes. that is tasteless..
but, what else would you expect from the ESS-EEE-SEE
This is not an "SEC shirt;" it's an LSU shirt. While plenty of people in Lose-ee-anna would be happy to tell you that LSU, indeed, is the SEC, they aren't. I'm sure the fans at most of the member schools in the SEC are as disgusted as everyone else. Some of them might have even picked up on the homonym.
Yeah. If someone wants to refer to Columbus hooligans as representative of the Big Ten, I'd have some issues with that.
The "fail" here is strictly on one school.
Ignoring the spelling mistake (or lack of understanding the difference between then and than) I don't see what the big deal is here. I mean, people say stupid crap all the time.
I often hear people say things like "I would rather take a bullet in the head than..." or "I would rather stick bamboo shoots under my fingernails than...".
If it was supposed to be a joke, I agree that it wasn't funny, but the shirt was intended to depict the designers distain for Alabama by saying he would rather endure something everyone agrees is horrifying than support a team he hates.
It isn't like he is saying what happened at Penn State was funny or anything. He's actually saying it was terrible, but for him he would rather have that happen to him than ever root for Alabama.
Now I know it is easy for someone who has never had that happen to them to make that claim, but it isn't really a whole lot different than saying they would rather take a bullet in the head than do something many others would think is trivial.
Do I think what he said was stupid? Absolutely. But do I think it was intended to take away from the seriousness of what happened at Penn State. I'd say it is just the opposite.
I agree. The shirt is more stupid than offensive.
Saying it vs. putting it on a shirt, selling/buying it, and wearing it.
