OT - Proud Dad moment....MGO(Hawks)Daughter's Graduation

Submitted by Wolverine In Iowa 68 on May 13th, 2023 at 5:30 PM

Big moment of pride today.  My MGoDaughter graduated this morning from the University of Iowa with her BS in Health and Human Physiology.

This kiddo was born 2 months premature, weighed under 3 lbs at birth, had to have belly surgery when she was 4 days old to remove a blockage from her intenstine, and was diagnosed with hydrocephalus at 9 months and then had to undergo about 7 surgeries to install and revise a head shunt.

She caught up.  She graduated high school 5th in her class, and just completed her Bachelor's (despite all the COVID mess and online learning years and all of it).  Congratulations to all the graduates this year, but especially to my baby girl, who has been a shining light all of her 22 years so far.

Thanks for indulging a proud papa.

Bask in the day, proud papa.  It sounds like it was a rough journey to start and your little girl has quite the fighting spirit.  Congratulations!!

Congrats to your daughter and family.  The COVID kids have had a rougher road than most -- we graduated a nephew today from Iowa, so we were following the stream back here in Chicago.  With one kid our there paying taxes and another getting ready to submit college apps, I know that this is a big f*&^ing deal, so enjoy!

Wow, great story and a wonderful ending and new beginning!

Congrats to all of you but especially your daughter. A lot to be proud of.  Wishing her much success wherever her career takes her!

I think what's best is, she's got it built into her now. No matter what uphill climb she faces, she'll think, heck, I've done this before. That's more valuable than gold. Congratulations to her and to you.
