Well, my wife gave birth to a 7lb 2oz baby boy at around 5 this morning. I'm already working on getting him an M hat to wear around every where. He'll definitely be in all M apparel in the fall for the first game. I've only been a dad for a few hours, but it's pretty freakin' awesome!

Congratulations! Make sure to play lots of Marching Band CDs! They're proven* to be more effective than Classical at helping a baby's brain develop. *Well, no one's proven otherwise at least.

Congratulations! That is definitely awesome. I have the same plans for my kids. They will be more knowledgeable in Michigan football than most middle-aged, die-hard fans, as I am sure your boy will be as well.

Totally awesome! Just remember his first words should be "It's Great to be a Michigan Wolverine". I wish I could say that and have it be true other than just being a fan.

I've worked hard on my oldest son. He's 5 now and he knows more players on Michigan's team than adults around here can name on UVA or Va Tech. His room is maize and blue as well.

Nice work blue_n_VA. My daughter is well on her way to being a big fan. She is a little over a year-and-a-half and she already likes to say: "Touchdown Michigan!" when she sees any kind of football on TV; "Michigan hockey! Lets' go Blue!" when she sees hockey on TV; and "Boo Buckeye!" when anybody says the word buckeye. This will probably end up with me paying for the outrageous out-of-state Michigan tuition, but it is a small price to pay to add another diehard Wolverine to the world.

I have a 3 month old and as soon as I get home from work he asks me if TomVH has any new news about signing day. I even heard him say "Fuck Corey Tropp" last night as we put him to bed.

As the father of 2 young, hardcore Michigan fans I can tell you how difficult it is some times to keep them on the straight and narrow until they're cognitively old enough to be brainwashed properly. Right away make sure their favorite colors are blue and some shade of "maize" (NEVER yellow), and maybe pipe "The Victors" into the crib. Congratulations- there's nothing like fatherhood.
