OT: MNF Lions at Cowboys Open Thread

Submitted by We are back on
Highly anticipated game, Cowboys aren't resting their starters and Lions are trying to secure a playoff spot without Slay, Swanson, and Riddick. Graham Glasgow is making his 3rd start at center for Detroit. Go Lions

It was 21-21 cowboys at the 25 or so 3rd and 7, Dak tried to run for the first and Hyder made a hell of a play from behind to swipe his feet, they called offensive and defensive holding replay down, next play they go deep to Dez in the end zone and Dez is grabbing the DBs face mask and pushing it up for a good 4 seconds but they call PI on DB. Next cowboys possession 28-21 the cowboys throw deep and get a questionable PI call, Dallas ball 1st and goal, couple plays later lions get a defensive holding call, that penalty was the best call of them all but I've seen a lot of no calls in that situation as well. Next play Zeke takes a counter in for a TD and the RT number 70 tackles the DE from behind no call.
Next Cowboys possession its 35-21 and zeke carries when Ashawn Robinson tackles him and they call unnecessary roughness, announcer with Gruden goes ballistic at the call. Next play the run a reverse to Dez he passes to Witten wide open 42-21.

I won't blame it all on officiating but every call was on key plays, Lions had almost have the calls on them but almost double the penalty yards.

Green Bay is playing great, so I expect them to beat the Lions by 10 or more points. The only way the Lions will reach the playoffs, is if the Redskins lose to the Giants. Even if the lions do not make the playoffs, Caldwell will be rewarded with another season as coach. I thought this was the year that Caldwell had to make the playoffs and win a playoff game to keep his job?

Another season bites the dust!

Evidently you've never watched lion football! The last coach sucked ass. Period. Caldwell, Smaldwell, you go out there and win a MF?&$&&((&! game with a third rate running back from Harvard. You cynics kill me with this fire the coach ish. I'm sure I know who you'd want them to get. Anyways, are you aware that management gave him an offensive coordinator that nobody but you, has heard of? Elvis Presley-Bart Starr-Jim-Bob-Cooter, from Sesame Street! FOH. The previous coach had a longer rope than China. Caldwell is in contention for the playoffs and all these cackles keep crying,(like little female dogs) it's CALDWELL, it's CALDWELL. Call the damn FORD'S and tell them personally, that you have MF'in had it!
Lol

If we stop getting people off the street to play our secondary positions we'll be fine. None plays the ball! That's a shame we lose Slay and we have no decent backups. Now green bay that loves to line up 4 & 5 wide receivers!!?? oh shit

I went to bed after the Prater miss. There were numerous bad calls against the Lions, but just like the Game, you have to leave no doubt on the road. We had no pass rush, which left a patchwork secondary out to dry. We will have a more consistent running game as the guys gain experience. I'm not sure we'll beat Green Bay next week, but I'll be cheering for them like always.

Can't believe I'm reading so many posts from you guys acting surprised. Any lions fan could smell this coming from a mile away. Chances are with the way Green Bay is playing we aren't winning next week either. If we are to make the playoffs, it will have to rely on the giants beating the redskins.
