OT: Michigan football alumni autographs
My 7 year old son is attending a Pittsburgh Steelers camp later this week. Each kid is allowed to bring one item to get autographed by the Steelers. We live in Pittsburgh and are not Steeler fans (don't ask), but my son really wanted to do a football camp, and the camp is literally 1 mile from my house. I have no idea what Steelers will be there, but would imagine it is mainly the second and third tier guys. Thus - I have no clue if Woodley and/or Foote will be there. Regardless - those are the only 2 autographs my son cares to get.
Two questions on this:
1) Is it ok to bring a Michigan hat to get autographed by Woodley and Foote? Or will they only expect to sign Steeler gear?
2) If the answer to #1 is yes, should be get Ryan Mundy's autograph on a Michigan hat? Mundy did play for UM, but finished his career at WVU.
I remember seeing in a Sports Illustrated way back when, an article on the NFL's connection with youth. They had a picture of Braylon Edwards going down an autograph line and he was signing a lot of Michigan mini helmets.
No doubt that the guys would love to sign Michigan stuff. Probably even more than Steelers gear since it brings back memories.
yes!
that would be criminal to not be able to bring whatever you wanted. When we were at the spring game bout 10 years ago when the players hung around on the field to sign. Fans brought all sorts of gear I am sure they could have brought something from say Cass Tech for example. Yes I know there is a difference between the Big House and the Steelers stadium.
The alums that I have met would be happy to sign UM stuff. No question.
DO IT!!!
The NFL is a paycheck.. nothing runs deeper than an alums pride for their school!
the player will sign anything but will put his NFL # beside his name and not the # he used in college. Good luck!!!
