OT: Miami QB Tyler Van Dyke in the Portal

I believe we're posting a new thread every time a high-profile QB enters the portal. Van Dyke is a three-year starter with good stats. Yet another option if JJ goes.

Prior to the season he was somehow getting hyped up as one of the top QB prospects, but Miami fans seemed totally over him by the latter part of the season.

I guess Gattis wasn't the only one to blame for his fall from grace after 2021.

Tyler started the year 4-0 with stats that were even better than JJ (11 TD, 1 INT). Then went thru a 5-game run with 11 INTs, four losses, and an OT win (with two picks) vs. a 2-5 UVA team (that ended 3-9).

Jon "C" Smith at MSU (not to be confused just yet with John LLLLLLLL Smith) may have to settle for this guy if he can't get the hot shot recruit from Ore ST to join him.

Again, if JJ goes...keep an eye on Riley Leonard at Duke. Elko is gone.

That said, all these guys will have found their new team by the time Michigan is done playing 😁.

I mean, if we're talking an Alan Bowman situation: come here, compete, get your head right, maybe play or back up. Sure. If we're talking come in and start. Nah.

Every time I watched a game of the U it seemed like the reason he struggled was his o-line was complete ass. He spent more time on his backside than on his feet. He reminded me of he early Lions Stafford years, where you could tell he was a solid QB but his o-line was getting him killed. Same with DG.
