On monday the co-creator of wikipedia made a series of tweets that coming from someone of his status were somewhat of a head scratcher.
Without even getting into the content of his tweets I'll let people go check it out for themselves.

It's most likely that the elite get away with any and every crime. Some are pedophiles. Some are murderers. Drugs. Fraud. Tax evasion. On and on and on.
But if you own the media you can tie your best interests (wealth) with hot button issues to secure your candidates get voted in. America hates bundling in cable but loves it with politics for some reason. It’s the best trick “the haves” ever pulled off.
This is less about owning the media* than it is about owning the criminal justice system. It's way easier and less politically embarrassing if one doesn't root around prosecuting well connected political donors and captains of industry. You can bet that the media would be very happy to cover these indictments and prosecutions if they weren't the ones doing the discovery and subjecting themselves to potentially destructive litigation.
*I don't think it is really helpful or accurate to describe the huge variety of institutions and viewpoints that make up this concept as one monolithic thing with a single set of interests or politics.

Someone speaking out against pedophiles and child abuse is a head scratcher? (even if it does go a little sideways at times)
...and what does "status" have to do with having an opinion? Do you actually know what Twitter is?
1. This is a bad OP. If the topic of the tweets is worth talking about, talk about it. If it's not worth bringing up, its not worth posting.
2. If this topic (for those who don't want to bother, Sanger is discussing what he feels is a large social / economic / political elite conspiracy to suppress (edit, thanks Sopwith) reporting of and enforcement against systematic child sexual abuse, a network that includes but is by no means limited to Jeffrey Epstein) is actually talked about it's hard to see how it won't be an instant disaster on this board.

I, for one, have a hard time believing that Jeffrey Epstein just, you know, died by suicide. A lot of powerful, wealthy people had serious need to silence him.
I didn't know that anyone bought that lie. Yeah, he just totally happened to kill himself when there was no video. Sure.
I was more concerned with the mods taking the post down if I got into the details of Sangers twitter thread.
You pretty much covered my reasoning for not getting into detail with you're point #2 . I knew people would not react good to it.
At the same time, these crimes have been ignored and covered up by the media for a long long time. It's only going to be when enough public awareness is spread that we can start figuring out better solutions to help protect these victims.

The entire thread's purpose was to shit on a certain segment of the population with no basis in reason or fact. I'm tired of being the target of ire for literally no reason besides false narratives. This rage against younger people has to stop. We didn't create the problems in the world today, we were raised by those who are now basically saying we're worthless.

I've been pretty weirded out by a few Facebook acquaintances who seem obsessed with pedophilia ans sex trafficking lately. One of them, who I just unfriended, was sharing shit about Tom Hanks being a pedophile and saying that his COVID-19 infection was just a ruse because the masses are not ready to hear that he is being executed for his crimes.
While I find the pedophilia obsession disturbing, I was also disgusted at his claims of being red-pilled. I will add that evidence-free claims that certain public figures are engaged in pedophile rings distracts from actual law enforcement actions against actual pedophiles.
Epstein was caught and convicted because a parent complained. Epstein’s victims have spoken against him in court. Epstein’s sweetheart deal with prosecutors was exposed because of a reporter in the mainstream media, Julie Brown of the Miami Herald.
None of that happened because of conspiracy theorists. Conspiracy theorists have not been able to provide any actual evidence against Tom Hanks or any of the other numerous figures accused of being involved in elite pedophile rings.
