After reading the details on this (I wish I had not) hopefully the judge will ignore his high priced attorney and go towards the max sentence. This dude seems like the kind of crazy we need to keep away from society.
hopefully guthrie will wade in to the discussion since his knowledge is more up to date, but i'm pretty sure that the rape count is a PC 261, which results in the judge being able to give a determinate sentence of either 3, 6 or 8 yrs. will also guess they can run consecutive with other felony charges, but the misdemeanors will be run concurrent. i can see bowman maxing him out. dangerous and crazy.

Maybe, but there is the question of how much prison is for punishment vs reform/correction/deterrence. I tend to think there's likely not much difference in the corrective impact of 8 years vs 20.

Not extreme. Many crimes in our penal system are punished too harshly. Some, however, are punished far too lightly.
