OT: Humorous take from FSU student body on QB dismissal

Submitted by MMBbones on

Since news seems a little slow today, here's a satirical piece from an FSU student body publication:

FSU Administration Surprises Even Themselves With Sudden Responsible Decision Making

Sample bit:

“You know, it’s like those magazines say: they shop for groceries like we do, they pick up their dogs’ poop like we do, and now they’ll start respecting the hammer of justice like we do!” Fisher exclaimed while discussing what changes this will bring to Florida State football. “We now have a strict zero-tolerance policy for our football players who have brought less than 6 wins to the team.”

I like the name for their satire paper... The Eggplant... I wonder what was the inspiration for that...

His lawyer will get him out of it. Dude's a pro. He got Casey Anthony off.

Start by saying she's the aggressor by clenching her fist and punching him (in the video, tho not really threatening but lawyers gonna lawyer), then toss in the race card with today's heightened tensions and that it's a white girl in Tallahassee. Boom. Cleared!

Self-defense exacerbated by emotions due to the epithet and alcohol.

I should be a lawyer!

Jk.

There's not video of Anthony doing it. She got off because they simply inserted a 1% reasonable doubt in. They used the system's core while the prosecution resorted to Nancy Grace-level attacks because they had zero direct evidence

Yep, the rotten baby smell in the trunk of the car only she had control of meant nothing.

Oh and everyone parties every night while "looking for" their "kidnapped" baby.

There was no video of OJ either nor Ted Bundy.

He punched her after she clenched her fist and punched him, after he seemed to grab her to calm the situation. What happened before they arrived at the bar I don't know. Not condoning his actions. Johnson should've taken the hit and charged the young woman. Neither should go without some legal punishment.

In the court of law, such biases shouldn't be relevant. If a man her size and weight punched a larger man and got punched back, would we be clamoring to defend him? Having a penis doesn't make the punch hurt less. Both were wrong to do what they did, she's not a victim here.

I think that's horseshit.  I play in a co-ed soccer league.  A lot, not all, but a lot of the women play really fucking dirty because they know the men won't retaliate.  One woman just got kicked out the league for a year because she would try to injure people on purpose -- broke a teammates arm and came at my knees one time with studs up.

After a year of that shit I transformed from being a gentleman on the field to if you want to play like a man, I'll treat you like a man.

So fuck off with the "dodge every one can because you're bigger and stronger" shit.  That woman at the bar knew what she was doing.

No... I'm comparing attitudes of people who think they can get away with shit because who they think they are.  That woman full well punched and kneed a guy hiding behind her gender.

Again, like I said in a previous post, I don't condone any of this but to put this on the guy is crap.

No one said he wasn't provoked and I'm certainly not giving her a pass.  The point is he has to have the self control, given the obvious size and strength difference, to back off and walk away.  That's all you have to do.  He has a much more powerful weapon than her and he doesn't have the right to use it because she went first.  It isn't fair but that's the way it is.  That kind of attitude has gotten a lot of people in a lot of trouble.

I still call foul.  Maybe if people understood there are consequences for being shitty to others, that woman wouldn't have been in someone's face and taken the physical liberties she did.

I went down your road once.  An ex-gf beat the crap out of me because I didn't use as you say, my

much more powerful weapon
. Never again. Your fairness doctrine sucks too. What you have between your legs shouldn't exempt you from the ramifications of being shitty. PERIOD!

The first comment to the Eggplant article is a woman chiding the school for the strict zero-tolerance policy only applying to players who are associated with less than six wins.  She's not joking.

Jack Warner (former CONCACAF head) - you've met your match.

the utter disregard for decency he showed in the video is disgusting. He knocked over a pitcher and what... Four drinks? In all seriousness, he should have just walked away and left her to a life of gaining 150 lb and living in a trailer. Instead, he threw away a potential career.

No, he cold cocked her because before that even happened, she pushed him, kneed him in the nether region, and then raised a fist towards him.

I'm not condoing *ANY* kind of violence... but she's FAAAAAAR from innocent.

Rock on SJW!

Stupid on his part, but the way the media is saying he "punched" her... He SLAPPED her.  SLAPPED.  Reverse the genders here and everybody would say it was a slap in self defense.  It doesn't look that way of course, as he is a college athlete and she is a helpless, innocent young girl.  (sarcasm level set to maximum)

What is funny is that he will likely be charged with assault when he slapped her.  If he had pulled out a gun and shot her dead, he could claim that he thought she had a weapon and intended him harm, thus he stood his ground.  It is Florida...

Charge them both.  The both acted like morons here.

After reading this thread I am really concerned that some men feel it's OK to hit a women at any time.   I am gonna play the woulda, shoulda, coulda game here....  He should have walked away NO MATTER WHAT WAS SAID OR DONE!  Did FSU not teach any of their athletes anything after the Winston fiasco???  I watch this and I am thankful I don't have daughters because if any man did that to one of my daughters I would be in jail.....

On a lighter note, isn't anybody appalled about the bartender wearing Overall shorts and no shirt????

Yeah I dont exactly feel sorry for her.  Nobody was right in that situation.  But I'm sure he's going to lose a lot more than she will due to this.
