HR Derby is about to start on ESPN. Who ya Got?

I'm gonna go with the homer pick and Cano.

I don't like how a group of fans root for a player to fail in the derby just because he didn't pick their only all star for the derby. I feel bad for Cano. Put yourself in his shoes.

They're booing bc he didn't pick KC's guy for the derby? Must have missed that headline. Sorry he's a yankee playing a childrens game for tens of millions of dollars. Love to be in his shoes. In a week no one will rember his derby performance.

How about Russel Martin last year almost beating out Avila, or Mark Texeira any of the last 2-3 years. Or Derek Jeter a few years ago while he was hitting .230 . Yankees fans have consistently sent players to the All-star game that haven't deserved it.

Granderson has 23 HRs at the break. I think Jackson is more deserving but the point I'm trying to make is that Yankees fans don't stuff the ballot for "scrubs" who don't belong near the All-Star game. Not saying that every Yankee All-Star starter deserved to be a starter, but I don't think the All-Star game has been littered with Yankees having non-All-Star worthy years over the past 15 or so years.

Shit man. Are you serious?

Cano is a grown man. He can handle it.

Billy Butler deserves to be an All-Star. He has really good numbers this year, and one more RBI than Cano, btw.

He should have picked Butler. That would have been a great gesture allowing a guy to do the HR Derby in his home ballpark. It's a silly competition with nothing riding on it. Pick the home town guy. It's not like he has 5 home runs. He has 16 and he's a pretty damn good hitter.

This bullshit makes it unbearable.  Cano sucks it up and everyone has to go up there and pat him on the ass and give him a gatorade.  Just swing the bat.

EDIT: Ugh, Granderson and Sabathia go out there for their egos to talk to Cano's dad.

Kemp with one, Cano shut out. There goes my pick.

Beltran, Trumbo, Fielder and Bautista advancing.

The derby is actually pretty lame.  Terrible commentary, boring interviews, the awful visual of Kruk stuffing his face with meat, and the occasional homerun in between.  The only good part has been the Cano trolling.

I was enjoying the Home Run Derby until they showed the NCAA Football commercial with Desmond Howard in an ohio uniform. I also threw my TV out of the window. Please update on Prince!

I think it's actually funny to see the guys actually eating the BBQ. Usually, when someone does that on a show they all sit there and comment on it and not one person ever actually eats a damn thing. Adam Jones was just loitering by the table.
