being a Nike school. They make better stuff. Sad but true, no sugarcoat, just epinion
It feels not weird or odd being an Adidas school, but a bit different...
and then there's the fact that all of the Michigan stuff I have are Nike's -_-
Try being a New Balance school.
this sounds like a total plug. and i too miss nike. the leaders and the best shouldn't wear the second best athletic brand.
Vietnamese, Indonesian, or whatever country Nike is now using for slave labor makes better stuff. Personally, I can't stand Nike as a company and I'm glad we switched. Hopefully, Adidas isn't as morally bankrupt.
but if that's what it takes to get me a better product and have a better company, then so be it. I wouldn't go as far as calling it slave labor though, those people don't have to work in the factories. They need the jobs.
Addidas is no better in that regard. Nike is able to recruit better slave kids
about the 5* slave from taiwan? Man that kid can sew. He's in the AA game at shoe lacer. I believe there was an OMG shirtless pic, but I lost the link. Nike is probably gonna nab that kid too.
OMG shirtless AND shoeless!
He said he was taking officials to Nike and Addidas but wasn't planning on deciding until signing day. But I hear 16 of his 25 brothers are Nike alumni so he might have a slight lean towards them...
I wasn't excited at all when I heard that we weren't going to be a Nike school anymore. I really liked all the nike gear I had, and I still have some of it. I just really don't like the way most adidas stuff fits and just the quality and how it looks. Nike had good sizes and I liked their designs a lot better. When is the next time we could possibly switch back to nike?
but I've bought at least one (sometimes 3) of the sideline polos since Nike started making the dry-fit. I wear one to everygame, even Northwestern last year (of course I had 27 layers over that). BTW, I'm only 30, and not a tool, as this ppost may imply.
Why would we consider you to be a tool?
I find those polos to be rather badass.
not Pepsi.
I have always liked Coke more than Pepsi. Some people are the other way, though.
make a rum and Coke with Pepsi.
and kudos to you if you are cracking out a rum and coke during any michigan games.
Rum and Dr. Pepper is also amazing. Best way to keep the buzz from tailgating going into the second half. Just bring in a flask of rum and slip it into the coke you buy at the concession stand.
I can't buy a coke at the concession stand b/c UM has a contract with Pepsi, the retarded half brother of Coke.
I watch all the games in an Adidas speedo (used to rock Nike, of course).
I can't wait to get my Umbro or Lotto brand Michigan stuff! When do you think that will happen?
Seriously though, I bought my first jersey ever last year because they switched to Adidas, although I did buy a discounted Nike away jersey this year... I'll wear the Adidas for home games and Nike for away games - from the minute I wake up in the morning on gameday.
I just wish we could rock some cool authentic Bugle Boy jerseys on Saturday's in AA.
I personally like the look of Adidas stuff. I like what they did with the football duds by adding the "Those who stay will be champions" and stuff. Also, it makes us different from all of the schools that use Nike.
And on gameday I usually just grab the closest maize shirt and call it good. Maybe my Adidas #2 away jersey if its a non-maize out game and I'm sitting in some random place not near the student section.
The hat that looks like ganja.
Wasn't adidas suppose to make UM exclusive uniforms just for UM. UMs away jerseys are the same as Arkansas jerseys. I could be mistaken though.
3 UM sweatshirts last christmas. 1 a nike one, 2 adidas. I honestly havn't worn the adidas ones at all. I love the nike one. Alot of the Adidas stuff looks cool online, but has dissapointed me when i got it. I have the helmet hoody, which was a great idea, just wish the "wings" weren't rubbery..
the nike stuff doesn't dissapoint me when I get it unlike the adidas stuff I got. I have an adidas sweatshirt and I don't wear it. I didn't realize how different adidas and Nike size things.
Pro tip - Wake up way early on a crisp morning in late April and find the hockey team's garage sale. All the Michigan clothing you could ever want for dirt cheap. I went the year of the switch and got two arm loads of nike cloths, from sideline polos to hockey team dry fit shirts, for less then 5 bucks per shirt.
Does anyone know when the Adidas contract expires and what are the chances we go back to Nike? I loved the Nike threads, have tons, and refuse to buy anything Adidas.
The Adidas stuff is just very generic, and the three stripes, on some of the stuff, is just as prominent if not moreso than the Michigan logo.
Also, does anyone know if there has been a difference in apparel revenues since the switch?
The adidas deal is for 8 years at 7.5 million per.

This is double what we were getting in our old Nike contract. Nike had the chance to make a counteroffer and said no. Bill Martin did the only sensible thing.
From a business standpoint he couldn't turn down the Adidas deal. I'm ok with the switch- I preferred the Nike gear, but I've found a few sweet Adidas shirts already.
Totally agree. I got the Clima Lite, Clima Warm, Clima Cool.
I wasn't too big on the idea of Adidas, but the stuff is growing on me. It makes Michigan unique compared to all the Nike cloans.
And the acronym sums it up: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A.D.I.D.A.S.
You Nike cloans can go root for some slacky directional team like western michigan, eastern michigan, michigan state, or northern michigan.
You should add the new Clima Proof to your collection.
Last year thye even handed out maize shirts and some people didn't even put them on.
