"It's a lot easier being a drug dealer than an AAU coach" - this guy. Tell me something I don't know. I mean, don't think but have never tried either.

Lots of food and lots of lifting will do that to you. Bulking up in a decent strength program isn't a difficult thing as long as you load up on clean calories.

Or he said it because he coached the kid for 3 years and knew more about his skills than anyone else, and he didn't think he was quite ready to play in the NFL yet.
College football fans are fucking retards.

You're bitching about hearing about Tebow and yet you go and start a discussion about him. Christ.

Safety was a catch-all for FS and SS. I figured you'd realize that, especially since you overlapped the positions anyway.

The two-deep at safety so far is looking like Vlad/Williams/Woolfork/...and Jared Van Slyke.

He's a true senior; started vs. Boston College in the first game of 06 and has missed only one start since.

That would be Michigan of the Central variety that got the 7 AP votes and not U of M

I'm currently in the northern Chicago suburbs right now...and...
I too would choose Northwestern over State if given the chance. My kid brother is a Sparty but if I'm gonna smell cow shit and live in cornfields for 4 years, it ain't gonna be in East Lansing. I would (and did) head up 127 to Mt Pleasant and be able to just walk right out my front door into a cornfield. Seclusion can be nice.
Academics + lakefront campus = win

I have a feeling they're paraphrasing "premium" info from Rivals and Scout.
I don't have a problem with it. Paying for a bunch of bullshit adjectives about high school kids from old midgets like Tom Beaver is fucking creepy.

They're big, and they're fast; who said they're going to play a typical bookend tight end role?
RichRod has experience with utilizing a big and fast guy like Owen Schmitt. Koger and Webb can line up in the traditional position, slot out, or slide back to an H-Back type spot. All that has to be done is getting the ball to them to make plays.
All we can do is just wait and see. The tools are there, let's see how they're utilized.
|5 years 2 weeks ago||When it comes to recruiting||
When it comes to recruiting high school ball, the level of competition is much more important than whether the team is winning championships or not. Ball on the western side of the state just isn't as competitive as say, the Detroit PSL, and there's just MORE players on the east side of the state.
Look at Hoover High in Alabama. Prestigious program, had their own TV show, won championships...and they don't put out too many high level recruits. Stronger competition makes for better players.

Fuck this anonymous point system, by the way.
Allow me to reiterate my point: BLACK (and white!) TEENAGERS LIKE NIKE.
|5 years 3 weeks ago||I went to public high school||
I went to public high school a city over from Detroit and saw it first hand. Teenagers are materialistic little punks, and football recruits are no exception. The need to maintain an image and perception is more prevalent among athletes because they're the "cool kids". This isn't the 80s: they're not doing it with Adidas.
|5 years 3 weeks ago||I wasn't going to say this,||
I wasn't going to say this, but...it needs to be said.
Look at the amount of recruits coming from poor areas and inner city areas. Brand loyalty and perception is HUGE among these kids. You're not gonna see black kids in the hood rocking Adidas kicks and shirts, they're wearing Nike Dunks, Air Force Ones, and Jordans.
These kids love their Nike.
|5 years 3 weeks ago||Nope. The AD Dave Heeke||
Nope. The AD Dave Heeke signed a deal for the 09 season. Adidas is simply giving the schools more money than Under Armour/Nike/New Balance.
|5 years 3 weeks ago||Toss Central Michigan on that||
Toss Central Michigan on that list too. The deal with Adidas kicks ASS and outfits every single varsity AND club sport with affordable gear. We used to be supplied by NEW BALANCE. I didn't even KNOW they made anything but shoes.
Just EPINION, no SUGARcoat.
