OT: ESPN "Streak for the Cash" Winner from A2

Submitted by Eat Your Wheatlies on

Dont know how many of you play Streak for the Cash, but I thought it was cool that someone from A2 brought home the cash for the longest winning streak of the month. How have you all faired in the contest? I set a personal record at 14 this month, but had never cracked 10 previously...its always the "obvious" matchups that screw me over.

My housemate actually is really good friends with the kid that won (he goes to Concordia).  He was actually tied for the lead with another guy and the tiebreaker is overall winning percentage for the month.  The other guy was winning and made a last minute bet yesterday and lost (which was completely unnecessary all he had to do was do nothing).  So it was a pretty strange ending but it was pretty cool that I indirectly know the kid who won.  That other guy is an idiot, but one mans misfortune is another one's treasure (literally this time).

Best streak i've ever had is 11

but yes. the other guy is an idiot and everyone has been tearing him apart. The Concordia winner is in his 3rd year and plans on going to UofM for Med School assuming he gets in (he will) so the $50,000 will really help him pay for that. He was pretty excited when it was official. Hope he realizes my birthday is coming up...

when I first played it back in December of '09. Haven't had a streak over 7 since. Ususally it's win 2 or 3 then lose 2 or 3. Fucking maddening.

I've only done it for a couple months, but my highest is only 9..

the ones that seem pretty obvious always screw me over. Duke losing to St. Johns cost me #10.. Fucking Blue Devils

Best streak was about 10 and I think I quit playing out of laziness

If they still have that majority thing, it's to mess with you

They also have odd picks like "Who will score more points" or some weird questions like that, instead of just picking a winner.
