No line to check registration, no line to get ballot code, no line for booths.  the longest part was using the ballot machine.  if id voted straight ticket it would have been less than 3 minutes.

I do live in a small town, and it was still an hour here.  Hard to believe.  I'm glad there's good turnout, but that's about the only thing I'm happy about with this election.

we have vote by mail, exclusively.  Voted on Sunday; no muss, no fuss.

I do miss the mechanical voting machines with the lever and the individual switches; but no line is a nice aspect.

That was my favorite part of the night.

Obama had around 200 votes and then at 10:59 CNN announced Virginia during their 1 minute countdown to the west coast polls closing. Every one knew Obama was getting CA, so it was really a countdown until they could legally declare Obama the winner.

3...2...1...OBAMA ELECTED PRESIDENT!!!

In all reality though, I called it at 8 when they announced PA went to Obama.

I used to be so excited about voting because the machines they used to have were the shit.  Pulling the levers was fun.  That was like fifth grade though when they rolled a machine into school and had us kids vote in a mock election.  Not that I don't vote, but the lever-pulling fun has been sucked out of it.
