speaking of baseball, Jose Reyes is a chump....cheap bush league move he did today
September 28th, 2011 at 7:54 PM ^
was his manager that took him out I thought?
September 28th, 2011 at 7:56 PM ^
he admitted that he took himself out of the game to preserve the batting title. That's pretty fucking cheap on Reyes's part.

on a bunt to make matters worse
September 28th, 2011 at 8:11 PM ^
just saw that. very weak he has all winter off play 8 more innings!
September 28th, 2011 at 8:09 PM ^
It is pretty weak....however. It's not like this is a first time occurrence. It happens quite often and just part of the game. It's pretty weak and I hope it ends up biting him in the ass though
September 28th, 2011 at 7:50 PM ^
and failed to find one. It may not seem like a big deal, but a win tonight with a Rangers loss would mean that we get to face the Red Sox/Rays in the first round over the Yankees. Not sure if that really matters, but it's something to think about. What say you, masses? Which scenario do you prefer?
September 28th, 2011 at 8:11 PM ^
If it turns out to be the floundering Red Sox.
September 28th, 2011 at 7:54 PM ^
It's been a great season! Go Tigers!
September 28th, 2011 at 7:55 PM ^
Don't know of any place you can stream the game. I'm just on ESPN so I can see the Boston/Baltimore and TB/NY scores as well. Hopefully the Angels actually win tonight, but that's probably pretty unlikely considering they don't have anything to play for anymore
September 28th, 2011 at 7:58 PM ^
Looks more like either Boston or a playoff tomorrow for the Wild Card. Rays trail 5-0 in the 2nd after a Teixeira grand slam that almost landed in Puerto Rico.
September 28th, 2011 at 8:10 PM ^
If it's all the same to you, Mr. Betemit, I'd prefer that you don't try to get our 2nd baseman killed or broken in half while trying to turn a double play, please?
September 28th, 2011 at 8:14 PM ^
That was some graceful base running
September 28th, 2011 at 8:16 PM ^
That reminded me of watching old movies of Babe Ruth running around the bases with the film sped up.
September 28th, 2011 at 8:24 PM ^
I hate St. Louis, and hate watching them back into the Wild Card spot even more. For all the talk about Boston's possible collapse, what about Atlanta?
September 28th, 2011 at 8:26 PM ^
Well, I don't think Atlanta had a 9 game lead on September 2nd.
And I don't like St. Louis any more than you do.
September 28th, 2011 at 9:43 PM ^
Actually, they did. Atlanta is 7-17 since Sept. 2nd. St Louis is 16-8. Put them in the exact same "choke" category.
September 28th, 2011 at 8:29 PM ^
It's ESPN....give them a choice between covering something with Boston and NY in it or ATL and SL and I think we all know who they'll pick everytime. Just look at the broadcast, the AL stuff is on ESPN while all the NL stuff is on the deuce.
But I hope SL doesn't make it, I would prefer not to play against them again
September 28th, 2011 at 8:53 PM ^
I am going to get tix with 3 other Tigers fan and plan on going to the game with Tigers gear on. While I have lived in NY for 3 years and went to games between the Tigers and Yanks, none were postseason. For the native New Yorkers, am I asking to have beer poured on me and comments hurled all game in wearing Tigers attire?
September 28th, 2011 at 8:56 PM ^
Seems like every poster on every sports board that is living in New York City has a username that announces that.

I see you Jhonny
September 28th, 2011 at 9:43 PM ^
BOOM Peralta'd.
September 28th, 2011 at 10:28 PM ^
holy crap....anyone see the Rays come back? 6 runs in the 8th to make it a ballgame!
September 28th, 2011 at 10:30 PM ^
Best regular season of my life. I was four in 1987 so winning the division back then didn't really register. First division title in 24 years, a likely Cy Young, and a possible MVP. From April to September it doesn't get much better than that. BLESS YOU BOYS, now let's get another pennant!
September 28th, 2011 at 10:44 PM ^
personally i want to see rays come back and for the braves to come back so we get some extra baseball. i of course want the rangers to lose in which case the rays winning wouldnt make as much of a difference.
September 28th, 2011 at 10:48 PM ^
and now pinch hitter Dan Johnson hits a home run to tie it up on a 2-2 count with 2 outs! what an insane come back!
September 28th, 2011 at 10:47 PM ^
Bloody Mike Napoli with a Napoleonic take-over of the ninth inning. Hopefully the Rangers run into a Russian winter of Angel bats...Never mind, I lost my train of thought.
Looks like the Rangers win. Dang.

tie game witha hr with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th. rays are fun to watch. Dont know if i want to see them in the post season.

I can't say this for sure, but I bet Manny Acta did a very very classy thing today that will go mostly unnoticed:
Cleveland manager Manny Acta was ejected in the first inning, enabling bench coach Tim Tolman to take over in his final game before moving to an undetermined role elsewhere in the organization.
Tolman is stepping down from bench coach because he has Parkinson's, and being reassigned. Dollars to donuts Acta arranged to have himself ejected. Classy. You have to like that.

Rangers didn't deserve it. Angels were little bitches for scratching their starters.
