Submitted by Blue boy johnson on

Tigers up 5-2 in the 8th. Cabrera 2 run jack and Ordonez has 2 ribbies.

Bondo pitched 6 and gave up only 3 hits, with 8k's

I'm going to have to take a closer look at Bondo pretty soon here for fantasy purposes.

He is due for a rise in performance. His FIP this year is 3.04 , with a 7.39 K/9 and a 2.6 BB/9. His fly ball percentage is a little high, so you might want to avoid starting him in major hitters parks, but he's definitely worth owning.

Depends on the size of the league. I'm still not touching him in a basic 12 teamer, but I'd contemplate him in a deeper league. A lot of his stats are somewhat inflated because the stinker against Cleveland didn't count, but he's all of a sudden striking guys out so there's reasons to be encouraged about him.

Starting pitching is has really come around other than Max getting rocked lately.  But other than that, bullpen has been solid and the heart of our lineup is killing opposing pitchers.  If we could just get a little more production out of the bottom half of that lineup i.e. our catchers, we will be tough to beat.

I live in Phx, so i'm off to LA tomorrow to go watch them BEAT down the Dodgers!

Oakland was 15-7 at home going into this series and had won 6 of 7 home series according to Mario Impemba, pretty impressive.

If Twins lose tonight to Boston; Tigs will be tied for first.

Great start to an always tough west coast swing.

is experienced enough to improve as the summer progresses. He has been off two years and needs the work. I see good things happening for him.

My mom passed away from lung cancer last Monday and it is good to feel healthy enough to be back on my favorite blog.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Sometimes after something like that, hanging out with friends (be it blog friends or whatever),  can help get things back to normal. Good luck on continuing without her.

Does Bonderman remind anyone else of Frank Tanana?  Former power pitcher whose injury forced him to become a junkballer?  Tanana was the best at making you think you could whale away on him and ending up looking silly.  Bonderman looks like he's taking the first steps down that road.  I like the idea.
