OT: Dan Campbell Wants to Get a Real Lion That Will Take a Dump During Practice
He's obviously going to be just as bad as every other Lions coach ever, but man, this guy is entertaining. Whether he's serious or not, he wants to get a real pet lion to bring to practice.
“On command, you could train him like if one of your groups isn’t doing well you could just take him over to their section and just have it take a dump right there in the middle of where their section is at and then bring him on back. I mean, think about it. It’d be outstanding."
He's already my favofite Lions coach ever.
LINK.
I almost hoped it would be the whole Ford clan. So glad I stopped myself.
It's always the poor damn intern.
Not that impressed with lion poop in practice. Someone might slip and tear a knee or something.
If Campbell can get Jared Goff to ride the lion out to midfield for the coin toss, I'm completely on board.
If Goff can train the lion to call the toss, all bets are off.
This guy is starting to seem more like Alex Jones than an NFL Head Coach
It would be entirely fitting if this knucklehead is the last coach the Ford family hires.
Gonna need to feed that lion a lot of roughage if they expect him to keep up with the Lions boobery.
he has clearly not watched any lions football in his lifetime..... there's been plenty of shit on the field
Who cares if he’s any good!? It’s the Lions. We just need something entertaining.
My Packers are in trouble. I'm scared.
This will be such a beautiful mess
Im not so sure why this guy is not more popular around here. I could care less what he says. He drafted hard in the trenches - that is A+ for me. Im sick of drafting all these uber skill players but not being strong in the trenches on either side of the ball, so skill players do not matter anyway.
I think he can be very successful. Build a strong core first, then plug in skill later.
His draft was a solid A from a strategic standpoint. It’s also a good sign when you scoop a DT and the team that traded up (Eagles) loses their shit when you take him because they thought you were done at DT.
Much of today’s game is finding the right leadership in the locker. That includes four or five players that keep everyone going. If the players don’t respect their coach things implode.
Campbell seems like a fun guy to play for. If he makes the right player and coach personnel decisions he will be successful.
It’s all funny until he loses a bunch of games and people start to wonder what the hell is wrong with him/
A profane, more humorous Rod Marinelli. We'll see how funny he is when the Lions go 4-13 this year. Just another Ford family joke. 60 years of giving the finger to Lions' fans.
Bobby Knight cut out the middleman. He would just pull his pants down, wipe his arse and let the team know they played like shit.
Clearly no one listened to the interview. That was on Pardon My Take which is about 90% non-serious. He said he thought a pet lion would be a cool mascot, like LSU or Colorado, but that it would never happen. Then it devolved into all the hilarious things they could do if there was a lion on the sideline. At no point was he serious. If you've ever listened to a PMT interview it goes off the rails in about 2 minutes but they do get the people they're interviewing to loosen up and can get some funny interviews.
I would echo the gentleman above, who was sure he had seen the Lions shit on the field for decades. Why these bright sparks get the big bucks.
It'd be way more "outstanding" to have the Lion actually chase after the opposing QB. Best DE ever. I mean, if you're going to play the Lions, might as well play against an actual Lion.
Something something rename Ford Field to the Colosseum something something
What's the over/under on this guy? Two seasons?
Yawn.
Go win some football games.
I knew when I saw his intro press conference that we were going 3-13
Surprised Ace didn't come on this thread to say how much he hates Big Cat
This is going to go one of two ways: he's either going to improve the team / win and his attitude will be fun and refreshing, or if things go badly from the jump, he'll be the biggest laughingstock in the Lions organization since Millen.
I hope the players buy in and Campbell facilitates improvement and getting them to play at 110% every play.
