OT - Conference Bowl records - something is wrong - B1G is 2-0, the SEC is 1-3.
It’s Thursday afternoon - and, the bowl season seems to be hitting its stride.
The B1G is 2-0 and the SEC is 1-3. Am I misreading the results (so far)?
Any perspectives you would like to share?
I know … “It just means more”… but, I’m also thinking “Over-rated” may apply to a number of teams.

It's difficult to survive success. in this instance, I sense a disturbance in the Feldman Array.

I wouldn't make anything of it. Bad SEC teams are losing. Mediocre B1G teams beat other mediocre teams.

This is true but their never ending argument is that the mediocre SEC teams are mediocre because they play an SEC schedule. And the Big Ten supposedly sucks. It’s a very small sample so your right to not take much from it but it’s still fun to see!

Any bowl games the SEC wins = "See, the SEC is better".
Any bowl games the SEC loses = "They didn't take it seriously" or "So many players opted out that it wasn't the same team".
Either way, the SEC narrative wins.
Bowl losses for SEC coaches = don't ever mention it, when discussing the success rate. Unlike other conference coaches that get looked down upon for losing the last game of the year.
Bowl wins for SEC coaches = "They are the best coach ever!". 😂
With ESPN in control of the narrative, then that's just the way it is. 🤷♂️

It’s cool, but now that the average bowl game features a ton of players opting out, means very little.

Bowl game records are even more meaningless now because so many players are sitting out minutes before kickoff. With that said FUCK the SEC!

So I guess it DOESN'T mean more.

Didn't last year's bowl season start the same way?

In the current climate you’d actually expect teams with better players during the season to do worse in bowl games because their good players are opting out. Bowl records mean nothing anymore.

The only thing that matters is the CFP. When OSU beats UGA and loses (again) to UM, then we can start to change the narrative. Until then…

Hear, hear!

Our middling teams can beat your middling teams, so there.

It's too early to draw conclusions. Let the string unwind a little.

Big Ten West is the top division in the B1G. Or they just play teams that had all of their top talent sit out.

These bowls don't mean anything. Who cares. Need to win the ones that matter.

That monster B12 is 1-4, and but for the fact they got lucky enough to have a game against an SEC team, could be 0-5. With three bowl games left in which they are an underdog.

THIS is the real "story" of the Bowl season thus far. Texas just lost too so the Big XII is now 1-5. That may not portend well for the 2 Big XII teams yet to come (K-State and TCU).
Big Ten and SEC, eh. Minnesota always was under-rated to me (they're a good team), and Ole Miss was over-rated to me. But nobody among OSU, U-M or Georgia played Minnesota or Ole Miss anyway. So who can read much into those?

Another one bites the dust. Big12 now 1-5

As much as I love college football, the death of the 40+ game bowl season is on the horizon. Most fans and players not interested.

As of right now I believe the Big 12 is 0-4. The same tough Big 12 that TCU ran over this season.
Edit: Sorry, I just saw posted they're 1-5. Thats atrocious either way.
