I am/was a lifetime skier, skied competitively and in locales all over the place. I can ski just about anything. But there are skiers out there that are so amazing, it's not even funny. The gap in skiing between "very good" and "holy shit" is pretty huge...

No, no shtick. Rare moment of honesty (tell no one). Skied freestyle as a kid, moguls; still own a house in northern Michigan and ski regularly (heading to Boyne this weekend). I was, like I said, "very good." Lots of competitions (CUSSA here in Michigan). Then I started skiing with some "holy shit" skiers and realized how good the top skiers were and how far I was from that. It's unreal, and the advances in the sport over just the past 20 years are unreal.

That was a surprisingly good progression from "One of those days 2," which was one of the more entertaining ski shorts to come out in the last year. Tunnels, helicopters, and skijoring! all in the same video. I love the way the edits make it the whole sequence feel like a single, fluid take.

The thin snow pack makes me sad, though. El Nino has been tough on the Alps this year.

I was delighted to find that the PNW has gotten average or better snowpack this season. I expected my Christmas ski vacation to look a lot like that video (the lack of snow, not the mind blowing aerials, that is). Instead I got full coverage and blower powder.

The timing of the parachute toward the beginning is impressive. At the beginning, is he being carried, or is he carrying his skis? If the latter, jumping into those skis is subtly amazing.
