To be fair, it's not like the SEC or Cam Newton have spotless track records.  I agree that it might be a bit hypocritical to presume guilt (I don't think that is necessarily the case for most posters), but given what we've seen out of the UNC agent kerfuffel plus the litany of offenses by SEC teams, the presumption of innocence isn't that strong.

On a different note, I'm sure a few of you caught the College GameDay special on Newton last Saturday. That was a moving story! Anyways, in a situation like this, who is really to blame?

ESPN.com reported Thursday that former Mississippi State quarterback John Bond told said Kenny Rogers, a teammate of Bond's at Mississippi State in the early 1980s, contacted him soon after Newton's official visit to Mississippi State during the Ole Miss game in December, and said he was representing Newton.

True or not I think this will sink his chances with the Hesiman as he gets caught in the wake of Reggie Bush's being rescinded earlier (this year?).  I doubt Heisman voters will want to risk it when there are other candidates making good argument for the trophy.
