The doctors say it is treatable and are optimistic about a full recovery. Good news for the James family. Sources: ESPN, CBS News, AP, etc.....

Hopefully he's able to play basketball again.

Was looking forward to seeing the kid play next season.  Now I don't care, just hope he's okay to play.  And if he's not, that's fine too.

Really weird that this is your comment, given that no one is even remotely suggesting 30 day boosters or that the vaccines are completely free of side effects.

But blaming the Covid vaccine for Bronny's episode is like blaming the polio vaccine for getting food poisoning at Taco Bell.

Anti-vaxxers continuously ascribe issues to the vaccine that have nothing to do with it. All anyone is suggesting is: let the things that are ACTUAL problems with the Covid vaccine exist and quit trying to "post hoc ergo propter hoc" unrelated shit into its sphere.

...I mean yeah. It's how to describe someone who is against the Covid vaccine or others. Pretty sure people never *stopped* using the term, given its accuracy.

If it helps, I also have not stopped using the term "Outfielder" for someone who plays the outfield or "Necrophiliac" for someone who is sexually attracted to dead people.

Others disagreeing is one thing. Ascribing nonsense falsehoods to the vaccine to justify their disagreement is another. Here's the difference: "I don't eat fish. It's not for me." vs. "I don't eat fish. There are lasers in the meat that cause Alzheimer's."

If he's being sarcastic about believing this nonsense, I'll take the L.

I’m just waiting to be annoyed by the memes that compare the number of congenital heart defects among Lebron’s kids vs. Michael Jordan’s kids

If there is a risk to another cardiac arrest there is no sense playing.  He is certainly not one of those people where basketball is their ticket to financial success.

Cousins' son played pickup hoops and went home tired and took a nap and never woke up. 16 years old with undiagnosed congenital heart issue. Cousin finds out he and both his two brothers all need pacemakers within a year of each other due to congenital issues. The youngest died at 54 in 2020 from heart failure and the oldest this past spring at 63.

My brother and I are looking over our shoulder and have cardiologists so far so good.

Godspeed Bronny.

There was a doctor in Saginaw (Balcueva) who had FOUR sons die at a young age, all from the same heart issue. Dr. Balcueva was a HUGE Michigan fan, buried in a Maze and Blue casket.

Just think of all the genius conspiracy theories if this happened today. The youtube "research scientists" would be coming out of the woodwork.

Not a Lebron fan at all but man it is good to hear that his little boy is on the mends and still have the possibility to go after his dream of playing in the league.

my oldest is 27 and I still think of him as my little man.

His brand is worth billions of dollars, his career-path, management, "character", was already being planned when he was 16, (the "hero's journey", refusal of the call, threshold, mentors, tests, return home, new life, etc.--literally all films, marketing, politicians, public figure use this, it may even be ingrained in us like language, parenthood, seeking of wisdom, etc. but I digress)

He's more like a politician or large corporation with his "interactions", it's all PR-speak.

Like many people who instinctively dislike politicans/marketers because they are not being honest in any way, nor authentic human beings, and just toting talking-points (and the converse people love politicans for their "authenticity/humanity/etc.---correctly-perceived-or-not), a lot of people are suspicious of him because frankly he isn't authentic, he speaks like an HR-dept. because that best protects the brand.

Also a lot of his things are put-ups, he never actually read any of those books he claimed he did, and when asked what he liked, he basically couldn't speak on a single thing that was in that book (lol).

For example, Jordan may be an harsh perfectionist and unrealistically expect that of everyone around him to the point of unhappiness, but he also wouldn't sit there and pretend otherwise; James is a put up, no question.

From a CNN article a couple of days after Bronny James' cardiac arrest:

—

"Bronny James, who on Monday suffered a cardiac arrest and was hospitalized, had a cardiac screening several months ago as part of a program for prospective NBA players, according to a source familiar with the matter.

The screening included a transthoracic echocardiogram – which looks at blood flow through the heart and heart valves – and an EKG, which is a recording of the heart’s electrical activity, the source said. Both screenings came back with normal results.

The normal results of those tests are a good sign and likely mean the episode wasn’t caused by an anatomical preexisting problem."
