OT - Best Christmas/Holiday Show, and What's in your Glass Tonight?

Submitted by xtramelanin on

Mates,

Pretty tremendous day of sports if you watched Michigan's OT thriller vs. UCLA, then watched that Army-Navy game in the snow, wow.  its snowing now and winter is finally here in Michigan.  It's also that time of the year when the Christmas and holiday shows are on as much as we wish college football was.  When you start thinking about it, there are way more specials these days then when many of us were young.

Some of the classics are animated like Rudolph, Snoopy, Frosty and others.  Then in the '80's you started to see some actual movies that were either about the holiday, like Scrooged, or had the holiday as a big part of it, movies like Die Hard and Lethal Weapon.

So, two questions tonight:

1.  What is your favorite Christmas/Holiday show

2.  What is in your glass this pre-holiday weekend

Have a great weekend, hopefully if you are at a holiday party it is fun and not a bore.

p.s. You don't have to pick the original Rudolph as your favorite, but if you don't at least like it alot, well, there's probably multiple containers of skim milk in your fridge.

Here's a picture of Harbaugh if he was in fact a clay-mation coach...

EDIT:  Baker Mayfield wins the Heisman, to the surprise of nobody.

You are the guy with icicles dripping from your nose. I am the guy who was wearing a t-shirt while selling Christmas trees for the Boy Scouts last night. The reason I look so upset in that picture is obviously traffic season. BTW, I loved that holiday special growing up. The songs were superb.

Christmas Vacation, followed closely by A Christmas Story. I’ve also been to see the Trailer Park Boys’ Live Christmas Special twice, which was awesome. Today I took the kid to see the Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer musical, which wasn’t bad. It closely followed the tv show.

As far as my glass, it was a couple of All Day IPAs at the theater, M-43 right now, and soon to be CBS.

Rudolph rocks!  But I'll have to go with a tie between Christmas Vacation and A Christmas Story.  If we could in Thanksgiving, I'd put Plains, Trains, and Automobiles at the top.

I'll probably have a glass of the wife's wine tonight.  I put up the outdoor Christmas lights, dropped a de-icer in the small duck pond, hooked up the heated water bowls for the chickens, and threw snowballs at the kid for a couple of hours.  Then I watched the recorded bball ga,e and finished up the Army-Navy game.  Time to relax...
