OT- All-encompassing Tigers Game 3 Thread
C'mon, Doug Fister.
Also, regardless of what happens, let this be the ONLY Tigers thread tonight.
October 11th, 2011 at 9:13 PM ^
That second strike to Miggy was bullshit. The exact same pitch from Fister an inning earlier was a ball. The guy's the friggin' AL batting champ!
October 11th, 2011 at 9:17 PM ^
the injury to Beltre may just be the catalyst the Tigers need. dude was swinging a mean bat and he's a black hole at third.
October 11th, 2011 at 9:21 PM ^
Problem is, we might have just lost Victor.
October 11th, 2011 at 9:20 PM ^
Boom victor. Shit victor is hurt
October 11th, 2011 at 9:21 PM ^
like he hurt himself on that swing. Wouldn't that be fucking great?
October 11th, 2011 at 9:21 PM ^
r u fucking kidding now vmart. this team is turning into the mudhens
October 11th, 2011 at 9:32 PM ^
out this series is over. Unfuckable believable, the Tigers stayed relatively healthy all year(with the exception of Boesch) and now the injuries strike in the playoffs.
October 11th, 2011 at 9:40 PM ^
My mind is blown.
This post requires that "believable" is a noun, and that it is incapable of sex and reproduction. But it's also an adjective. So in this case, it's an adjenoun incapable of sex and reproduction.
Never seen that before.

Sorry, the situation caused me to butcher the English language. Not sure what I exactly I was going for there, in retrospect. It should be noted, that I have been drinking a little bit as well.
October 11th, 2011 at 10:34 PM ^
No worries - I was just having a bit of fun with your post. I could have guessed you were enhancing the Tigers game with a bit of substance. Nuthin wrong with that.
October 11th, 2011 at 9:26 PM ^
Could it be his groin barking at him again?
October 11th, 2011 at 9:27 PM ^
Pyrrhic home run.
October 11th, 2011 at 9:32 PM ^
"A member of the medical staff just touched Jim Leyland in the lower right back."
Either:
- V-mart strained his lower back,
- Leyland strained HIS lower back, or
- The trainer and the skipper need to have an awkward conversation.
October 11th, 2011 at 9:34 PM ^
he's just reminding skip where his nicotine patch is
October 11th, 2011 at 9:36 PM ^
That's cute that you think he only wears one.
October 11th, 2011 at 9:36 PM ^
Nice to join you all for another Tigers ALCS game. (Late - been remodelling all evening with game in background).
Fister looks alright so far. We need this one.
Funny how this series has been closer score wise, but not as close game wise.
October 11th, 2011 at 9:38 PM ^
Please tell me that the rest of you are either as repulsed as I was over the color commentary aside of "Well, baseball -- a game of oblique angles -- has become a game of oblique injuries here in the ALCS," or you've just blocked it from memory.
October 11th, 2011 at 9:40 PM ^
Jim and Dan on with the TV muted, so I don't have the problem you do.
October 11th, 2011 at 9:41 PM ^
October 11th, 2011 at 9:43 PM ^
be agressive and send him. Word is it is an oblique injury for V-Mart. That is just great.
Edit: Stratch that Santiago gets him to third with a hit.
October 11th, 2011 at 9:42 PM ^
Don't these guys know any ab workouts and stretches?!
October 11th, 2011 at 9:45 PM ^
you're sooooooooooo clever coming here talking about stretching, do you now, Buckeye? :P
October 11th, 2011 at 9:47 PM ^
Shame on Tim McCarver! "They need to stretch before working out," he says. Everyone in modern sports science agrees that static stretching prior to working out is more likely to lead to injury!
You've gotta stretch afterwards! Exclamation!
October 11th, 2011 at 9:43 PM ^
c'mon. do something!!!
October 11th, 2011 at 9:46 PM ^
why can't you score on two-out doubles?
October 11th, 2011 at 9:50 PM ^
there kelly. walks VMart to load the bases. then you take 3 bad attempts with a weak groundout; all balls. wouldn't want you to take a strike or two there.
October 11th, 2011 at 9:53 PM ^
I'd prefer to blame Leyland for choosing to hit Kelly 5th
October 11th, 2011 at 9:57 PM ^
The way we're hitting, Leyland might as well hit Enos Cabell 5th.
October 11th, 2011 at 9:56 PM ^
Rangers, for employing the ridiculously stupid bunt the runner to 2nd strategy. Thanks for the free out. Feel free to continue giving away outs.
October 11th, 2011 at 10:01 PM ^
Yeee indeed. And no one got hurt.
October 11th, 2011 at 10:01 PM ^
Best celebratory remark I've seen in any context/situation.
October 11th, 2011 at 10:01 PM ^
not be much, but the last 3 innings offensively have represented some progress relative to what we had been seeing.
October 11th, 2011 at 10:06 PM ^
DIRKA!
DIRKA!
DIRKA!
WHOOOOO!
October 11th, 2011 at 10:15 PM ^
with a big RBI, after a Dirks steal. Hopefully this is the start of a hot streak. The big boys are coming through a little better in this game.
Still concerned about Victor though, I doubt that he is close to 100%, and probally won't be for the rest of this series.
October 11th, 2011 at 10:10 PM ^
good version of Jackson!
October 11th, 2011 at 10:11 PM ^
atta boy. see, good things happen when you put the ball in play. now run.
October 11th, 2011 at 10:22 PM ^
October 11th, 2011 at 10:26 PM ^
game 7.
October 11th, 2011 at 10:26 PM ^
The T-Mobile girl would be hot if she ate more than once per week and weighed more than 96 pounds.
October 11th, 2011 at 10:48 PM ^
you dont think shes hot?????? i wouldn't think twice.
October 11th, 2011 at 10:55 PM ^
That pic is outstanding. In the commercials she looks anorexic.
October 11th, 2011 at 10:28 PM ^
by the hammer of Thor!
October 11th, 2011 at 10:30 PM ^
the big boys starting to heat up. Now if Avila could get something going.
October 11th, 2011 at 10:41 PM ^
props to fister!
October 11th, 2011 at 10:41 PM ^
So Raburn makes the nice defensive play, and Santiago butchers it? What world am I living in?
October 11th, 2011 at 10:44 PM ^
Raburn is awesome at throwing. Always has been.
October 11th, 2011 at 10:42 PM ^
pitched an absolute masterpiece with the season on the line. Hopefully that shuts up everyone who was still on the fence about that trade once and for all.
