OT: 6 announced transfers at Florida, all on offense
Coach Boom is cleaning house or in a mess, not sure which. This includes a QB, TE, FB and 3 OL. Odd that is all on the offensive side considering Pease and OL coach are gone unless those kids absolutely loved those coaches.

Several of those are graduate transfers, so it's not necessarily a full-on dumpster fire over there.
But, they will be left with just 2 scholarship QBs, something we know too much about, unfortunately.

Nope. He'll be the third, barring other attrition.

They'll be fine at QB then. Grier is a solid looking QB. From what I saw, he was the best looking QB of the bunch at The Opening. Needs to put on some weight to last a full season in the SEC though.

Jeff Discoll then who?

Driscoll, Mornhinweg, Grier

So will do the grad school transfer thing. To me this screams "our offense was terrible, why wasn't I playing more" type of transfers. These are competitive kids that probably think they could do better than those that are going to see the field, but also see the writing on the wall that they probably won't get that opportunity at Florida.

A few of the Florida blogs actually seem a little surprised / perplexed by Murphy's announcment that he will transfer, interestingly enough. They cite the idea that the QB job could very well have been Murphy's to lose in 2014, or at worst, he's backing someone who has a very lengthy history of injuries (Driskel, I assume) and probably would start a fair amount anyway. That seems to go back to the possibility that Tyler Murphy was not happy with that situation anyway, given that what they are describing is more or less the 2013 situation.

Everyone here seemed to think all year that Tyler Murphey looked better then Diskel had earlier in the year- seemed like an odd move to me as well.

Wasn't this posted last week?

but it appears that this post gets into greater detail than the post from earlier; linked:

With as bad as that offense has been, I don't blame some guys for wanting to get out of it...especially if they couldn't get on the field in that offense.
Skyler Mornhinweg did pretty well in his stint as the starting QB. Good ol' Marty did something right, I guess.

Is that really Marty's boy?
Skylar? Lol.
December 16th, 2013 at 11:27 AM ^
Yep, that's him.

December 16th, 2013 at 11:53 AM ^
and how would you compare our offense to theirs?
December 16th, 2013 at 12:00 PM ^
Well, for one Michigan was #39 in scorring offense with almost 34 points/game, while Florida was #113 with about 19 points/game.
December 16th, 2013 at 12:35 PM ^
your first example, I don't think a 2nd one will be necessary!! Unless of course you have a .gif of those two Florida fellows blocking each other.

They just had 6 annouce last week were tranfering.
December 16th, 2013 at 11:44 AM ^
Not sure if serious...
But this is the same story just with more detail. Same 6 guys from what I can tell.

With us losing both of our OTs and still having some depth issues, could we use any of the OL that are transferring?
December 16th, 2013 at 11:48 AM ^
Williams was suspended for the season opener for an alleged drug test failure, Young was an anonymous 3-star, and Silberman started the last four games for Florida this year. My guess is that the only one who would be of any interest would be Silberman, who was Rivals #71 overall player in the class of 2010, but Michigan didn't pursue him coming out of high school.

Wouldn't that have been RR's last class?
December 17th, 2013 at 6:08 AM ^
His last full class, yes.
December 16th, 2013 at 11:51 AM ^
Anybody looking at Michigan and is Michigan looking at any of these players?
December 16th, 2013 at 11:53 AM ^
in all likelihood, no and no.
December 16th, 2013 at 1:07 PM ^
There are seven transfers not six. There were six last week, and now Murphy.
December 16th, 2013 at 5:40 PM ^
Well at least the defense will be fine...
