OT: With the 3rd pick in 2020 NFL Draft the Detroit Lions select?
We are currently picking 5th.
Lions 3-10-1
NYG, WASH, MIA 3-11
Bengal 1-13
I expect Lions to lose out and end up with 3 wins
So Skins play the Giants so 1 of those teams will go to 4 wins and we would move to 4th.
The Dolphins play Cincinnati so they will most likely go to 4 wins as well putting us in the 3rd spot.
The Skins have been playing better and finish vs Dallas in Dallas. Doubt they win but could put us 2nd spot as long as NYG beat Skins when they play
So who do we take? Trade out for picks and players?
December 17th, 2019 at 6:42 PM ^
Sean McKeon, Tight End. Michigan.
December 17th, 2019 at 7:10 PM ^
Totally makes sense. Injured tight ends are their sweet spot.
December 17th, 2019 at 6:45 PM ^
With the third pick, only one way for the Lions to go.
Gotta choose Joey Harrington as they did with the third pick in 2002.
December 17th, 2019 at 6:47 PM ^
Was Barry 2nd or 3rd? Forgot
December 17th, 2019 at 7:12 PM ^
Poor Barry. He’s probably gone through years of therapy after retiring from the Lions.
December 17th, 2019 at 8:19 PM ^
3rd behind Troy Aikman and (hee, hee) Tony Mandarich.
December 17th, 2019 at 7:00 PM ^
Peete Andre Ware-ington.
December 17th, 2019 at 6:48 PM ^
Some dude that would have gone in the fifth-round, but Quinn heard the Pats were going to take with their first pick.
December 17th, 2019 at 6:48 PM ^
Jeff Bezos?
December 17th, 2019 at 8:25 PM ^
Prime Members get free paper bag with eye holes.
December 17th, 2019 at 6:48 PM ^
Tua Tagovailoa (This is seriously the ineptitude I'd expect)
December 17th, 2019 at 7:20 PM ^
Rumors have been around all year that the Dolphins want Tua. I can see the ineptitude of the Dolphins.
December 17th, 2019 at 9:21 PM ^
Well of course there have been rumors all year the Dolphins want Tua
December 17th, 2019 at 8:23 PM ^
Yeah, exactly. It wouldn't surprise me if they took a punter or long snapper either.
December 17th, 2019 at 6:50 PM ^
Well i fully expect them to get the number 2 pick and get Chase Young. But if they miss out on that they should get the DT from Auburn Derrick Brown
December 17th, 2019 at 7:12 PM ^
Yes tiebreakers. We lost to Skins but beat Giants. I think we need Giants to win the game vs Skins.
December 17th, 2019 at 7:57 PM ^
We have a tie, so tie breakers are a non factor
December 17th, 2019 at 8:09 PM ^
The tie should count as a double loss.
December 17th, 2019 at 7:56 PM ^
Need lots of stars to align to get 2. 3 or 4 guaranteed if we lose out.
December 17th, 2019 at 8:27 PM ^
May want to consider JK Dobbins too. They do need help at the RB position....actually, they need all kinds of help, and that's the problem. They don't know who to take when.
December 17th, 2019 at 9:55 PM ^
With a top 5 pick? I might puke if that happens. Maybe 2nd or 3rd round.
December 17th, 2019 at 11:05 PM ^
That’s a terrible idea. First, it’s almost never a good idea to take any RB that high. Second, the Lions have a lot of other needs to fill. Third, there have been some promising looking guys this year that are hurt. You work with them first. And if you really think you need a new guy, you draft one on day two or sign a free agent. There are dozens of decent RBs that are interchangeably serviceable out there.
December 18th, 2019 at 10:08 AM ^
I was totally on the Chase Young bandwagon. But he has lost quite a bit in my eyes. If Jalen Mayfield can stonewall Chase Young, what the hell will Chase Young do against a veteran NFL tackle?
December 17th, 2019 at 6:51 PM ^
Double down, Sean McKeon
December 17th, 2019 at 6:51 PM ^
Probably Kenny Willekes
December 17th, 2019 at 8:04 PM ^
Do they get his pharmacist as part of the deal?
December 17th, 2019 at 6:53 PM ^
The Lions will win the last game and move from #3 to #9. I’ve seen this story.
December 17th, 2019 at 7:09 PM ^
Nah. Green Bay is likely to be playing for something (playoff positioning) that week.
Which means the Lions are going to win THIS week. The meaningless game against the Broncos. Bet the house - it's +240 on the money line!

Okuda
December 17th, 2019 at 9:06 PM ^
The lie-downs should only pick buckeyes or spartans so they can help destroy their professional careers.
December 17th, 2019 at 6:56 PM ^
Brian Lewerke
December 17th, 2019 at 6:57 PM ^
Regardless of draft position, Jeff Okudah.
December 17th, 2019 at 7:13 PM ^
A TE or WR
December 17th, 2019 at 7:16 PM ^
A tight end or receiver, of course.
December 17th, 2019 at 7:18 PM ^
Regardless, whomever they select will either:
1. Get injured in training camp or OTAs
2. Get injured badly enough during the season to be put on IR
3. Show up out of shape and have a lackluster season
4. Not be as good as the Lions talent evaluators think and have a lackluster season.
They just can't get it right.
December 17th, 2019 at 9:24 PM ^
5. Be a head case who prioritizes smoking pot
6. Be head case who shoots himself in the leg
7. Under perform for the Lions, get traded for a player in the twilight of his career, become an all-pro for some other team
8. Be an all-time great at his position and retire early because it just isn't worth it any more
December 17th, 2019 at 7:18 PM ^
Trade down and get as many picks as you can get...
December 17th, 2019 at 7:20 PM ^
Patrick Mahones, so they forfeit their pick. Then Quinn says, “oh, we can’t draft active players? Who knew?”
December 17th, 2019 at 7:36 PM ^
“But I drafted him in my fantasy league!!”
December 17th, 2019 at 7:27 PM ^
Rodrigo Blankenship, Kicker, Georgia
We all know the Lions chief problem is their poor kicking game since the retirement of Jason Hanson, the best Lion to ever play the game.
December 17th, 2019 at 7:29 PM ^
who was the last guy the lions drafted where a few years later you said, "wow, that turned out to be a great pick?".
stafford took a few years to be solid. my pick would be Suh. how many years ago was that?
Do the lions have any all pro caliber players?
December 17th, 2019 at 7:48 PM ^
Don Muhlbach, two-time All Pro long snapper! Start from the trenches baby.
December 17th, 2019 at 8:38 PM ^
Kenny Golladay is pretty damn good. Probably Quinn's only home run.
December 18th, 2019 at 11:59 AM ^
he was a 3rd rounder too ... something something sunshine and dogs asses
December 17th, 2019 at 7:29 PM ^
KUATO!!!!!!!
December 17th, 2019 at 7:29 PM ^
Isaiah Simmons
December 17th, 2019 at 7:40 PM ^
Trade up to no. 2 and take Chase Young. I don't care that we have a lot of needs or that this is a Michigan blog.
December 17th, 2019 at 7:56 PM ^
Devin Bush? Seriously it doesn't matter because Quin and Patricia will find a way to screw it up.
