OSU WR Jameson Williams headed to Alabama
Their engineering program is too good to pass up.
Their football program is also too good to pass up.
Please don't let Walter Nolen know about that.
Right.
Like this guy was going to turn down all the $ in the Alabama "Engineering Program" after taking the $ from the "Engineering Program" at O$U.
Like begets like.
I am blaming Phyllis in the LS&A admissions office for this one.
Dammit, Phyllis.
You knew damn well that "Intro to Golf" and "Aids Awareness" credits weren't going to transfer.
Not even into General Studies?
Even the General Studies department has some lines it won't cross.
With your username, I'd have rather expected you to blame Syphilis
I blame Scylla and Charibdis.
+1, not enough people giving this its moment in the spotlight
That's one of those things they would not teach me of in college.
Remember, I'm the meds. Herpes keeps me in business.
Did you mean syphilis, mr. Herpes?
This was Phyllis as a cheerleader for the St. Louis Cardinals back in the day.
Phyllis from Mulga got reincarnated and now works in admissions?
PAWWWWWLLL!!!!
I'm sure there isn't any talented WR's on Bama's roster and he should see the field very fast.
I also hear their hurricane simulator is world class.
There are definitely targets available after Metchie.
Metchie's skill set doesn't match those of the WR's that Bama has graduated L2Y. Though I do suspect he was dealing with some ailments down the stretch last year.
He'll see the field faster at Bama than OSU. He was #6 at OSU behind future 1st round draft picks Olave and Wilson. In fact, Olave was projected in the 1st this year (15 to 32 by most). They're by far the best returning duo in CF.
He was also passed this Spring by national 2020 #1 Fleming, national 2021 #1 Egbuka, and 5 star 2020 Smith-Njigba. Both Egbuka and Smith-Njigba were said to be impossible to cover in the Spring. Williams wasn't going to see the field at OSU. In fact, many of their insiders are calling this group the deepest / most talented ever at OSU. Well, till next year QB group
Hope our CBs aren't on this blog...
Let's not pretend he would actually transfer here. Buckeyes don't go blue.
Well Bo was an assistant under Woody at OSU and then we all saw where his career took him.
Not saying I disagree with you, but I suppose there are exceptions.
Yep, every 50 years or so . . .
Talk about Bo all you want but to my knowledge no OSU player has ever transferred to play at UM. Hasn't happened. Won't happen. Ever.
Trust me, I hate using Bo as a crutch for this program as much as anyone. I was just trying to be a smartass.
I absolutely agree with you though. Especially with the culture that Tressel built around emphasizing the rivalry and the degree to which Meyer and Day have been built upon it. Going to Michigan wouldn't just be turning your back on your former teammates and coaches. I have to imagine it would be viewed by the OSU faithful as a sign of personal shame that would sit with you and your family forever.
I live in Delaware Ohio and have this Scarlett - Gray shit all around me. All I see in the Sports news is OSU - specifically OSU football. Basketball is just something to pass time till Spring football starts.
To address the issue of an OSU player transferring to UM...... maybe if the kid is from out of state. Still a long shot though. I guarantee if the kid is an Ohio native - IT WON'T HAPPEN. One more time: IT WON'T HAPPEN. And if it did, these crazy bastards around here would burn their house down
"Ever" is a long time, @UM Indy. The Transfer Portal is a very recent development in College Football so the effects of the free agency it begat are just being felt.
So, I'll take the bet that between now and ever, there will be an OSU football player that transfers to UM.
Gary Moeller was captain at OSU then came to coach for M. Everyone always talks about Bo’s ties but Gary was a 3 year letter winner at OSU.
Yes but it wasn't directly from Ohio State. Also he didn't play for them.
Note: 2 that we know of.
Quarterback Howard Yerges Jr. and center J.T. White -- started off at Ohio State, fought in World War II, then played at Michigan when they returned to civilian life.
Trivia: Yerges was the starting quarterback and White was the starting center on the 1947 team that went undefeated and beat USC 49-0 in the Rose Bowl.
Wouldn’t call those transfers so I think my point stands.
lol did people really think an OSU guy with a Bama offer would actually come here?
He would have just fallen in the long line of 4/5* WRs who were severely underused anyways.
Hopefully the offense is more explosive this year and we have a WR who has at least 700-800 yards receiving.
Yep. If he's a receiver looking to develop his skills for the NFL, why should he even consider Michigan? We don't have a track record of a competent offense or skill position development. He made the right choice to invest in his own future by choosing Bama.
Did anyone really think we had a chance with him? He'd lose half his credits transferring here.
He'd start at WR and lose half of his targets as well. Michigan doesn't throw to outside WRs unless accidental (or necessary because the slot WR and TE are triple covered, and even then the QB sometimes still passes to them).
And by 'pass' you mean arm punt.
I'm sure the loss of credits weighed heavy on his decision.
People actually believed he would have came here not until we figure out are receiver problems
Is that really how you think that's spelled?
Vice to texture is a bitumen.
LOL
I legit have no clue what word ur talking about
Lose a transfer LB to OSU, now losing a transfer WR to Bama. Just feels like another week as a Michigan fan. Harbaugh needs to shadow Juwan and get some tips on closing. #basketballschool
There are no substitutes for winning.
If Harbaugh takes care of business on the field, then everything else will fall into place. He doesn't need to talk to Juwan to understand that. And I'm guessing Harbaugh understands that better than any of us, given the amount of pressure he's under.
He has not cracked the code in 6 years, hoping #7 is the lucky one.
Are you just unable to let a single opportunity to shit on Harbaugh pass by, without a mindless comment? It's really annoying, if you care.
