OSU fans also wringing hands over three-star recruits
Given the discussions people have been having over the amount of three-star commits U of M has, I wanted to pass on the following: One of my best friends is a huge OSU fan who follows recruiting really closely and who has a subscription to the best OSU football web site (Bucknuts). He told me yesterday that OSU fans are expressing angst over the number of three-star recruits OSU is currently going after. I pass this on in hope of alleviating some of the concern people have...
F*&# Ohio State.
everybody is doing it.
Lets go streaking!!
I will require MUCH more beer first.
3 Stars, the new 5 stars!
In a couple of years RR will sign a #1 recruiting class composed entirely of 3 star recruits.
I just assumed that Scout/Rivals changed to the Roger Ebert system of 4 stars maximum.
Hasn't Roger Ebert's system always been about thumbs?
3 star spread option recruit > 4 star pro style recruit
And really greater than 3 star pro style recruits.
Um, not really. Personally, I don't care all that much about what the star rating is for our offensive recruits. I'm more concerned about the talent level of our defensive recruits in this class.
Yeah me too. Barring a bunch of injuries and defections, we have a bevy of offensive talent lined up for about three or four years. Defense is thin everywhere and borderline on talent in some places.
We should only offer players with >90 ratings in Heart, Grit, love for Michigan, and spread offense compatibility.
It doesn’t matter they’re going to be loaded for the next couple of years anyway. But anyway F*&# Ohio State
Rule of thumb: if a three-star guy gets offered now, that's an indication that he was a high priority for the staff all along. On the other hand, if a three-star guy only gets offered around January, there's a much greater chance he's a backup option. The players in the former category are more likely to pan out than the latter.
