The more you know... Menacing is a crime governed by state laws, which vary by state, but typically involves displaying a weapon or a course of conduct that intentionally places another person in reasonable fear of physical injury or death. Seriously..the more i know. I had no idea either.

How is menacing different from assault? Or is it a kind of assault where actual harm is not threatened/intended, one is just acting like a tough guy?

the guys young and extremely promising. i've had a lot of respect for oregon ever since the shellacking they put on us. it makes me sad when their players do stupid shit like face punchs and the like. i hope he learns from this and is able to sort this out and have a great career at oregon and this isn't a sign of trouble to come.

If you're convicted of battery, you're pretty much automatically kicked off a team, right? Seems like even Bobby Bowden would have a hard time covering this up. Maybe not Rick Neuheisel though - that dude could cover up the theft of the crown jewels.
