He's not the only one who fakes it for Brian Kelly.
Zing!

Thanks for the visual.
I will not be googling "Brian Kelly's wife" to help complete the picture.

He's not just Ol Purple Face on the sidelines

As long as the rules allow it, it's hard to blame a team for using it. The defense should be allowed time to substitute in my opinion. Also our coach is notorious for exploiting loopholes to his advantage.
September 23rd, 2019 at 9:22 PM ^
Wish he could have done a few last Saturday.
September 23rd, 2019 at 10:07 PM ^
It's doubtable a few rules tweaks would have made much difference. That was a real ass-kicking, particularly the first half.

"Doubtable." The new and improved "doubtful," for a new age.

Instead of only having to sit out one play have injured players have to sit out five plays and see if they still flop.
September 23rd, 2019 at 11:19 PM ^
If the offense subs isn't it required that the defense can then sub as well? I remember plain this like yesterday except in which year it was... however in the 2000's Iowa was playing LSU in a bowl game and the refs blew the whistle because Iowa "had" to let LSU sub because they did.
September 24th, 2019 at 5:48 AM ^
If a ref had seen it, it is a penalty.

When Gameday mic'ed up Kelly at practice for Saturday's show, all I kept thinking was "OK, so when is he going to kill another kid?"
September 23rd, 2019 at 10:08 PM ^
I find your thought process......fascinating.
September 23rd, 2019 at 9:37 PM ^
In their defense, #6 did look a little gimpy, no? #20 saw someone yelling get down, so he did, or started to at least.
September 23rd, 2019 at 10:00 PM ^
Watching it live 6 did look hurt and GA was moving to the line. I'm with you...I didn't think it was special opps while watching live.
September 24th, 2019 at 8:01 AM ^
Looked to me like he was hurt and the refs will not stop play unless you are on the ground. Doesn't seem like bad intent to me.

but saying Zach Charbonnet is "in a good place" when asked about being injured is being straight up honest...or Jansen today deleting all his tweets about ZC being good to go and not injured. please, Every coach games the system to an extent and JH is the master at it. We have to stop having blinders on
September 24th, 2019 at 9:57 AM ^
Pre-game gamesmanship vs. in-game faking of injuries are two completely different things.
Of course, #20 looks like an idiot. I have heard other folks saying that #6 did look injured and that it's likely the coaches were telling an actually injured (or injured-appearing) player to get down on the ground.
Then again, these aren't futbol players, they're football players. They're about being tough, not winning academy awards for "best portrayal of a career-threatening injury which is miraculously healed 12 seconds later."
September 23rd, 2019 at 9:55 PM ^
I believe Owusu-Koramoah (#6) had a concussion and the player took him down because he didn’t know where he was.
September 23rd, 2019 at 9:59 PM ^
Looks like intent to deceive.
September 23rd, 2019 at 10:02 PM ^
Number 20 is funny, but 6 was right to go down and the coaches were aware enough that he was dinged up to tell him to do so. Probably every coach in football teaches this.

I still can't believe one ND guys hit his own teammate so hard he took him out of the game. Sounds bullish.

dude had a concussion; he's questionable against whomever the dummers are playing this week.
I'm glad though we're concerned with this shit; their defense had 1 kid who had his bell rung; we had 12-14 on our defense who got their asses gaped.
