If Michigan somehow, someway, pulls the unthinkable of unthinkables and wins in Columbus, someone needs to put an Animal House .gif together, plaster Ryan Day's head on Dean Wormer's body right at the moment he says "I hate those guys."

Justin Fields would be a great Greg Marmalarde. Who on the team gets to be Otter and punch him in the face?

Well, Plan A would be to have the team look interested in playing/winning games, but that went out the window a while back.

We're all fans of Michigan, we're all fans of football, we're all rooting for the team. But the coaches aren't putting players in any kind of position for success, injuries/covid/opt-outs have decimated the already-mismanaged roster, and you can smell the apathy surrounding the program.

It certainly looks like the team has quit on the coaches. It certainly looks like the coaches have quit on the team. Fans have increasingly quit on the coaches. At a certain point, you just want to put everyone out of their misery.

It's not so much about quitting as it is about the team playing with half an effort. Players like Hasson Haskins, McNamara and Ronnie Bell, among several others are still giving it 110% out there. Kudos to them but it's not a real and whole team effort.

I just don't want to see more embarrassment by this team. It's awful.

I agree with your sentiment.

For better or worse, the University of Michigan decided to go forward with a 2020 football season.  When you commit to go forward with something, you finish it out unless there is a valid reason to quit (and 1 positive PCR case is not that), even if you don't necessarily want to.

That's a good rule for life in general, not just 2020 college football.

Michigan returned to practice today.

Of note, OSU is expected to start practicing today as well. Some are in the 21 day protocol and will miss a game or two.

I like that they are playing the games. Yes, I am watching them apathetically, but I have loved college football since I was a kid. I feel like the quit watching it crowd is just taking my ball and going home crap. Sure, be less invested and enjoy your kids and family, but I still love the tradition of watching the game on fall Saturdays

I don't know man.  I was in your boat for over 30 years.  I was tuning out towards the end of the Hoke era, then was totally reborn when Harbaugh was hired.  However, I just can't take the disappointment anymore.  I've tuned out completely to avoid this affecting me emotionally.  I've been more frustrated watching this year than any other year in my life.  I guess that goes with the high expectations I had for JH.  I will not watch a minute of the OSU game as I know what's coming.

Are you me (aside from the 30 years thing - sorry, I'm a bit younger than you)? I'm in the same boat.

My fiancee has been pretty happy that I've not let Michigan football affect me. She didn't understand when I told her that it was just apathy and I wasn't happy about that either...

I'll watch a bit of OSU. I don't mind seeing our team lose in certain cases - OSU is better and that's what happens. It's just a matter of whether our team is even going to try to win.

I’m with ya. I grew up in the 90s. My fandom was borne as an 8 yr old watching Desmond Howard get tripped against MSU and the punt return. Nothing could tear me away from the TV when a Michigan game was on for the last 30 years. I was almost there in 2014, and was likewise reinvigorated by Harbaugh’s hire.

Now...yeesh. I turned off Penn State game at halftime. I will likely catch a little of this weeks game on the radio, but won’t watch. There’s no world in which I watch the OSU game.

Eh, on one hand it is going to be torture to keep on playing assuming the level of play remains the same, but more evidence for the people involved in or influencing the decision making that is a change is needed isn't the worst thing. I doubt there is 100% consensus among the prominent people involved on that right now. One of the posters claiming inside info said as much.

If they are still waiting to make a decision on Harbaugh then better to play these games. I know it's been a shit show season but I still want to see more football. I know it won't happen but I'll trade two more losses this year to have a chance at beating OSU - I mean everyone already has it down as a blowout loss so why not?

This is just an exhibition season anyway.

More practice time & game experience with a young team is always a good thing, even if we get our butts kicked.

Well, Green looks WORLDS better than he did a couple weeks ago, so I'd say they're making *some* progress.

The slap-dash OL can't run block in predictable short yardage situations but seems to be doing OK otherwise, all things considered.

Prior to the injury, Cade looked very promising. Maybe Joe will get more of a chance to develop? Get back to his performance level VS MN?

Our tailbacks seem to be improving also. Love the depth! That should carry over to 2021.

The D still looks like a sh*tshow, but they're missing a lot of pieces that could be added via the transfer portal for 2021.

Losing sucks but I'm going to just try and look for improvement of individuals and position groups for the next three games and enjoy it for what it is.
