This is hilarious and one of the most OSU things ever. “Hey, lets sell jerseys of a player who is not only not an alumni, but didn’t even play college basketball!” I guess we’re allowed to start selling Michael Phelps shirts and Derek Jeter baseball jerseys now...

Merry Christmas everyone

That's the dumbass response my wife made.

Michael jordan created a brand.. putting lebron's last name on osu jerseys isnt a fucking brand you dumbass...  osu is acting like he played at osu when he never stepped on a college court ever and they are trying to profit from it.  Clearly he is making some form of a cut I'm sure.

And you have a Merry Jordan Christmas too, dumber-ass.

I posted my earlier comment knowing I'd get downvotes, but not expecting some bully hiding behind a keyboard to hurl childish insults.

I fully understand the brand-recognition thing going on with the Jumpman image and how (when it was unique/exclusive to U of M, anyway) it was a bit of a net plus in getting athletes to look our way.  My personal response to it, though, is that I refuse to purchase anything bearing his logo.  My choice.

But as for you and your response, that's OK, you do you, I'll do me.  And, may I also add, kudos to your lovely wife for her obviously intelligent viewpoint, she's no doubt the brains of the family.

Could you please take your medication for whatever is up your...

No, I had (and am still having) a wonderful Christmas, especially considering being the "dumbass" I was informed that I am for making a snarky comment about Michael Jordan.

My kids got me a new non-Jumpman Michigan long-sleeved zippered pullover and a Michigan-logo wireless Bluetooth stereo headset (among other things) for Christmas.  Not only that, but after spending the night at the home of my daughter and her husband, I woke to the aroma of a delicious breakfast and bourbon pecan coffee this morning.

How could I possibly be having a rough day?

Lebron has his own Nike logo, just as Jordan does.  At least Lebron is from Ohio and a fan of the university.  Michigan is just whoring off of a guy who won a National Championship in an entirely different school/conference.

That's quite pathetic.

UM should start selling the "oh let do it" guy's jerseys because if he HAD qualified he'd have been at UM

This is why I refuse to take shit from OSU fans (or any fan for that matter) for being a Tom Brady fan. OSU fans that I’ve talked to have said Brady succeeded here in spite of Michigan (Whatever the fuck that means), and that if Brady didn’t do the things he’s done in the NFL, we wouldn’t give two shits about him now. That second part might be true, but it’s irrelevant. Same logic could be applied to LeBron if he went to the league and flamed out. At least Brady chose to come here. He played, he won, and he left his mark on this program.

James didn’t go to OSU, but OSU sure acts like he did and that OSU means more to him than any of his NBA titles. James didn’t go to college, and even if he did, he sure as shit wouldn’t have gone to OSU. He would’ve went to Duke, Kansas, Kentucky or UNC for one year and then left. The guy is a mercenary, and he’s proved this twice already. He’s the greatest player on the planet, I won’t dispute that, but OSU is not any kind of special place to him. This is just to keep up appearances with all of his sycophantic followers in Ohio.

I don’t care that OSU chooses to do this. That’s their choice, and if people buy the jersey and OSU makes money off of it, then it’s a smart move for them to do it. But then don’t trash Michigan for exploiting its relationship with Brady.

Not that I have a strong opinion either way, but the argument is that Tom Brady, the best pro QB (arguably) to ever play the game, was only a 6th round pick, and that only through Bill B's system was he able to flourish.  It could be that Carr temporarily botched his development, or it could be that he was a late bloomer.  I do know that Joe Germaine, OSU's QB at the time Brady was starting at UM, had a better college career (and was drafted two rounds higher).

One might argue on a much smaller scale that Michael Thomas could be a similar-ish case.

There's no "arguably" about it. He IS the greatest QB to ever play the game. He's got the rings to prove it. There may be QBs who are better than him in individual areas of the game (I've never seen a more accurate QB than Brees, just as an example), but when you account for the game as a whole, he is the best.

No one else comes close. It will be a long time before another QB gets even close to six rings. Much less attains and surpasses it.
