Officiating today
Metellus’ fumble recovery should have been a TD obviously. I thought officials were instructed to let a play like that go then it could be reversed if the knee was down.
kick return penalty was not a good call I watched it 4 times in slow mo and he hit him in front of right shoulder.
both call were game breakers the way we are playing today. That said if we wouldn’t be a turnover machine it wouldn’t matter!

Give it up man. The team is playing like shit
September 7th, 2019 at 2:31 PM ^
Never said they weren’t, did I?
September 7th, 2019 at 2:10 PM ^
You're correct about the fumble but not the block. It's a new rule this year.
September 7th, 2019 at 2:10 PM ^
How many of our fumbles were caused by the refs?
September 7th, 2019 at 2:30 PM ^
I don’t believe that I blamed the refs for any of our fumbles or poor play, however they clearly cost us a TD and that is a fact!
September 7th, 2019 at 9:40 PM ^
If the Metellus play was a TD we wouldn't have been on offense to fumble the next play.
September 7th, 2019 at 2:12 PM ^
Let’s go Army !!!
September 7th, 2019 at 2:16 PM ^
Here we go! BLAME THE REFS!!!
Our guys couldn't possibly move on from said call, they have to sit and think about it every play now.
IT'S FUCKING ARMY
September 7th, 2019 at 2:27 PM ^
I absolutely did not blame the refs, but 7 points is 7 points.
September 7th, 2019 at 2:57 PM ^
twenty dollars is twenty dollars....
September 7th, 2019 at 5:28 PM ^
6 points is 6 points. Nordin's PATs are sometimes an adventure.
September 7th, 2019 at 2:19 PM ^
Don’t forget to mention the calls that bailed out Michigan on drives as well.
Pathetic.
September 7th, 2019 at 2:26 PM ^
What calls did the officials “give” us?
September 7th, 2019 at 2:37 PM ^
Why are you using give in quotations? That makes no sense.
How about the 3rd down PI that extended Michigan’s game tying drive?
A thread about refs when a Michigan game isn’t going their way. It’s the Michigan way.
September 7th, 2019 at 2:50 PM ^
If it is PI then the refs aren’t helping them they are doing their job. Again on s fumble recovery such as Josh’s the whistle should not have been blown. Simple as that.
September 7th, 2019 at 2:21 PM ^
I rarely post but this is so pathetic I'm ready to blow. Yes, refs cost us 7 points but this is the most pathetic I've seen Michigan and that includes the Rich Rod years. Doesn't matter what the refs do if you suck, which right now we do. Hell, we had to run a freakin' D'Antonioesque fake punt to score at all. Fucking pissed.
September 7th, 2019 at 2:32 PM ^
Clearly you don't remember the Shane Morris Minnesota game.
September 7th, 2019 at 2:26 PM ^
Agree on both
September 7th, 2019 at 2:27 PM ^
Well, Army had a blindside block on the punt right after we got the blindside block penalty. Unfortunately, Army didn’t get a penalty. Total bullshit.
September 7th, 2019 at 2:32 PM ^
Yup exact same block right on their sideline. Saw that as well.
September 7th, 2019 at 2:39 PM ^
Lol. I don’t know why it’s still funny when people cannot seem to separate issues. The officiating this game does seem to leave something desired. The worst of it was the negated touchdown. That doesn’t mean Michigan’s ball security doesn’t need work etc etc. And the OP didn’t blame the officiating for our performance. In fact; he literally said the officiating wouldn’t matter if we weren’t a turnover machine. But light your torches and grab your pitchforks I guess
September 7th, 2019 at 2:52 PM ^
Thank you, some people seem to have difficulty with comprehension.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:00 PM ^
That was a fairly cheap call.
You can delete this now.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:14 PM ^
That's it. Let's blame the officials!
September 7th, 2019 at 3:26 PM ^
Team has played poorly but the 7 points that we didn’t get is the difference in a win or loss. That is now a fact. You can never away all you want but that is the bottom line.
September 7th, 2019 at 4:34 PM ^
It was garbage as usual, but one of the more favorable crews we will see all year
September 7th, 2019 at 4:46 PM ^
It definitely could've been better, but these guys are part timers, who only referee as a sideline hobby. Crazy, right?
September 7th, 2019 at 5:21 PM ^
Yeah, terrible decision to call Metellus down instead of letting the play go on. If his knee was down, the play would surely be reversed. But once they called his knee down the play couldn't be reversed, so justice couldn't be served.
I shouldn't need to add this but I will: I am NOT arguing that the referees were the reason Michigan played like crap and almost lost. I am noting that the refs screwed up royally by calling Metellus down, which cost Michigan a touchdown.
September 7th, 2019 at 6:53 PM ^
Two shit calls. No way they created the "blind side block" rule for plays like that. Unless you are supposed to introduce yourself and shake hands with the guy you're trying to block before you do it.
That said the worst calls of the game were McCaff handing it to Z twice in a row on the same exact play call on 3rd & 3 then 4th. McCaff is leading the team in YPC. Let him run it once there for fucks sake.
