Officiating sucks
I thought the bowl season was supposed to be a bonus for the best officiating teams. How does the supposedly best refs miss a blatant DPI in the OU-LSU game in the friggin' first quarter? OU was driving down 14-7, and then forced to punt and quickly went down 21-7 and that was it. I'm sorry, but these refs should be fired and never be allowed to ref again. You can't change the flow of the game that early on that big of a stage and have no consequences. My friend posted on reddit to complain and his post got deleted. This game is so corrupt now, f it. F the whole system. I'm cutting the cord and dropping all sports channels next year.

Lol, dude you seem crazy. All refs suck, but not watching sports because of it is like not dating just because you can’t get a hot girl.
December 28th, 2019 at 8:32 PM ^
Especially if that hot girl is a Sparty.
December 28th, 2019 at 8:32 PM ^
I'm just tired of bad officiating. why bother watching if they're just going to predetermine the outcome.
December 28th, 2019 at 8:40 PM ^
I pretty much only watch Michigan.
December 28th, 2019 at 8:49 PM ^
So you don’t watch the College Football Playoffs or major Bowl Games?
December 28th, 2019 at 8:53 PM ^
No. There is honestly no games that interest me. Osu will get blown out by Lsu. No reason to watch. They should get a real playoff and I’ll watch.
I don’t pay for tv. I go to every Michigan game.
December 28th, 2019 at 8:57 PM ^
IDK...I think osu-lsu would be a good game.
December 28th, 2019 at 9:01 PM ^
Tallywack time.
December 28th, 2019 at 9:23 PM ^
We do have a real playoff, it consists of four teams. And by far, by leaps and bounds, the best four teams in the country. 6 years now and zero controversy over the four teams involved every year. They've got it right every year, and in so doing preserved the absolutely critical nature of the regular season, the factor that makes college football regular seasons the best, bar none, in sports. You think there are blowouts now? Wait until the terrible day that we have a 12 or 16 team playoff, then you'll see some real blowouts. Along with spoiling the regular season. The fact that the playoff is exclusive is precisely why it's so good--it rewards only excellence, and does not reward teams that lose 2-3 games. That's awesome because only teams with beginning to end excellence get a chance, and that, by itself, is both fair and right.
December 28th, 2019 at 9:32 PM ^
This is not a real playoff. The point of a college football season is to win a national title. None of the mid-majors have any shot, even if they go undefeated. To me that makes it a farce. Also just out of principle, it’s a farce. All other divisions have a playoff, yet D1 can’t? This so called playoff is ass. The NCAA is a joke for that and so many other reasons.
December 28th, 2019 at 9:46 PM ^
No mid-major deserves a shot, they have objectively worse talent and zero shot whatsoever at winning it. So why include them? To make them feel better? Participation trophies? The idea of a mid major in the playoff, THAT is a joke.
December 28th, 2019 at 9:51 PM ^
I disagree. Boise St, UCF and others in the past could have had a real shot. Even if you say they have no shot, which is dumb, why are they in D1 then? Why can the guys who can get in the playoffs pad their schedule with them then?
December 28th, 2019 at 10:14 PM ^
Good question. A new D-1 would be appropriate, with about 64 teams, and a D-1A with the rest. That would be best actually. And fair to them.
Boise and UCF would get rocked in any playoff. When quality teams like OK and OSU a couple years ago in the current exclusive system get rocked, UCF would lose 62-7 in any year you want to name. You think a single playoff game isn't attractive now? Imagine UCF against anyone! UGH.
In a 16 team playoff, Michigan might have a chance at it. And that would be both futile, because we'd lose, and unfair, because we don't deserve a chance, we weren't good enough this year. Neither were any of the other teams in the NCAA the year except for four.
I'd be for adding two teams to make 6, and would listen to a debate on 8. But anything more than that would be a travesty and actually the opposite of fair. Fair is not a 3 loss team getting hot and beating a superior team who lost none, it's the opposite of that.
December 28th, 2019 at 10:25 PM ^
Guess what, only 6 teams have won the NC in the past 12 years. So, my friend, that means that comparer to a select group of 4-6 teams who hoard all the 5 star talent, all other teams are basically DII level talent.... that includes Michigan.
in other words, we’ll never sniff the 4 team playoff, but we could have a shot in a 8-12 team playoff.
December 28th, 2019 at 10:01 PM ^
Always got it right? Remember when the 2nd place team in the B1G went to the playoff and scored zero (0) points? That was not the right decision.
December 28th, 2019 at 8:49 PM ^
What about the Browns?
December 28th, 2019 at 8:55 PM ^
Haha! The Browns are trash. I only watch Tom Brady win playoff games and Super Bowls.
December 28th, 2019 at 9:31 PM ^
Clearly you need to don the zebra shirt and show them how its done!!!
Officials sometimes suck but fans-OMG they are one helluva lot worse than the officials!!!
December 28th, 2019 at 9:33 PM ^
I’m not a cheating piece of shit, so no thanks.
December 28th, 2019 at 9:20 PM ^
But, he's kinda right......
December 28th, 2019 at 8:31 PM ^
The worst non call since last years nfc championship.
December 28th, 2019 at 8:35 PM ^
The refs had zero effect on that game.
Drink more and stay up.
December 28th, 2019 at 8:53 PM ^
But for that call, Oklahoma would have totally been in that game...
December 28th, 2019 at 9:01 PM ^
I dunno. I think it totally changed the outcome of the game.
I would have ended 63-35 maybe.
December 28th, 2019 at 8:39 PM ^
This is some next level shit. I don't get complaining about the reffing of our games in most cases. I sure as hell don't get it when I don't care who wins.
December 28th, 2019 at 8:41 PM ^
I actually can't argue with the premise. OU wasn't winning that game, but the missed DPI was as bad as the one in the NFC title game. You're welcome, LA.
And now the DPIs by O$U go uncalled.
Nothing is fair. Nothing will ever go your way. Eat your gruel. Watch your re-runs. And like it.
December 28th, 2019 at 8:42 PM ^
This one is gonna be a blowout too
December 28th, 2019 at 8:44 PM ^
Congrats
December 28th, 2019 at 8:45 PM ^
Almost all crews make bad calls from time to time... it’s a part of the game, so might as well accept it and boo their asses out of the stadium the next time they do it to the good guys in the Big House. Also throw towels.
December 28th, 2019 at 8:46 PM ^
It would be great to even play in this game. Next year?
December 28th, 2019 at 8:46 PM ^
Officiating is dogshit (LSU OL repeatedly downfield, missed DPI, Young lines up offsides repeatedly), but the whole system has devolved into a mini-NFL entertainment package.
December 28th, 2019 at 9:02 PM ^
LOL.
Some of you guys are idiots.
If every official were fired that idiot fans call for to be fired, there would be zero employed officials remaining.
There will NEVER be perfect officiating in any sport. There will always be mistakes. You can't just fire everyone who makes any kind of a mistake at work.
December 28th, 2019 at 9:24 PM ^
There needs to be accountability though. One bad spot changed the narrative AND the course of 2 programs in 2016. I'm firm on that.
December 28th, 2019 at 9:27 PM ^
He didn't suggest that, and there can be an expectation of minimum competence in any job.
December 28th, 2019 at 9:54 PM ^
Yea but...it's fucking atrocious out there anymore. These calls effect outcomes of games (not earlier today lulz). Coaches and players careers are affected by these guys and some missed holding calls along the line are one thing but the horrendous PI calls/misses are detrimental. They're bad and we need a new crop of people to do it better with all the damn money in this sport.
December 28th, 2019 at 9:57 PM ^
In other news, water is wet.
December 28th, 2019 at 10:07 PM ^
Complainers of officiating suck the suck from the suck.
December 28th, 2019 at 10:33 PM ^
Hmmm...someone have money on OU?
December 28th, 2019 at 11:11 PM ^
I have family who was a white hat in the big ten(also did the Auburn vs Oregon championship game) and is now a white hat in the NFL. Also have a buddy who's a white hat in another conference. I can tell you with a 100% confidence that they don't give a fuck who wins.
They are held "accountable". Graded on every call and missed calls. It will effect your bowl game you get which effects your pay. What do you want? The electric chair?
December 29th, 2019 at 12:19 AM ^
Pac 12 refs. That's how.
December 29th, 2019 at 12:34 AM ^
Bad officiating? Ok, I suppose.
Weird conspiracy theories? Tell us the brand of tin foil do you wear.
