Wittek's arm is mighty, mighty impressive.
Official Root Against ND Thread
and another first down. Screw ND.
This is OT for this thread, but didn't think it thread worthy (enough BS threads already). So, if you're UCLA and Stanford is spanking you and you know that you're going to Stanford again next week. Do you take out your key starters and find the meanest folks you can put on the field to physically beat on Stanford as much as possible (within the rules)?
I think you use all your best plays/formations this week so the opponent preps for them, then forget them all and run up the middle all second half.
Is anyone else feeling more than a little dirty rooting this hard for Lane Kiffin?
Not if it serves to shut Lou Holtz up.
Seeing Texas A&M up 42-7 in the first half further drives home just how badly Bama would role ND. I know ESPN will spout off about how ND has a better D than A&M, but they are not even on the same planet as the A&M offense.
I'm sorry but I can't stand the thought of another all SEC championship game. It's hard enough dealing with them as it is.
I'm for anything but an all-SEC championship game.
You guys almost have me convinced to root for Notre Dame. But no. I just honestly don't think ND is a good enough team to compete in the title game. I'd rather see a good well played game; even if it means all SEC...
How does SC have 4 losses???
I'm all for an all SEC title game again. Wouldn't be hilarious? The ratings would continue to drop further than last year's, and the NCAA would feel the doom of the BCS. Not to mention, it would be the best football game..because, well, they're the best football teams. What's the fun in watching ND get smacked? Yawn.
Do we really want ND to even have a chance of winning the title game? No, go USC.
Awww come on guys. I was cheering hard for you guys today. And I would be cheering for you to be smashing the SEC stranglehold. My hatred begins and ends on gameday.
when ND loses 4 games with a gutted roster.
Gutted? Most of our defense is back next year, so not too worried. AND we'll actually have real CBs at the position as well. We are almost at the point of reload status. Not worried.
But speaking of gutted. Denard is gone, you have no real threats at WR or RB. 90% of your offense just walked out the door.
without my support, which will never happen. Now shut up.
Teo has no chance at the Heisman (even after that interception), right?
The heisman is Manziel's unless Klein goes off next week.
The heisman is Manziel's unless Klein goes off next week.
Didn't Musburger sort of diss Woodson?
He brought up a table with #Tackles, #TFL, #INT for both Teo and Woodson and said "The most recent defensive player who won the Heisman was Charles Woodson... and compare him to Teo." Of course, Teo has twice as many tackles because he is a CB fergodsakes. I like Manti, but let me know when Manti plays offense and special team as well ... and when he scores a few TD's.
I keep thinking today cant get any worse and yet it does. Michigan lost, ND is about to win, I just found out I left my wallet at the store this morning and I threw cookies at the TV during the game.
I'm waiting for somebody to break into my house and kick me in the balls or something.
Oh come on, Bennet Jackson one on one vs. Lee at this point on the game? You're just asking to get scored on.
I bet Lane wishes he had those 4 points back that he cost his team with that silly time out.
on that play.
holy hell... USC sucks
Brian Kelly is also an asshole
Kiffin is terrible. Holy hell.
Oh my god what kind of play calling was that?
Lol Kiffen, you need 2 scores and you don't take the points...?
USC is awful
How do you not take 3 there? Jesus USC is terrible.
well.. ND deserves it.. lets see how well they do when an SEC team has over a month to prepare for them
He just made Borges look gorgeous.
Another iconic goal-to-go series for ND. That D line is something else.
Bama 27, ND 3.
ND only losing by 24? That would be a great game for them...
How did Borges get across the country so fast. WTF lane Kiffin
How did we rate a year with ND and OSU both reaching 12-0? How annoying that neither are very impressive and we played shitty halves against both to drop winnable games.
We are clearly not a contender for Nat'l Chmpship as Bama showed, yet we were physically equal to ND and OSU (except for 1-2 playmakers). Our offensive execution sucked and there are no excuses.
We need to upgrade the talent at a few positions and better offensive coaching.
Yeah, isn't that great that we lost to the 2 undefeated teams in the country, the other presumed team in the nat'l championship game, and perhaps even the B1G's team (hell, maybe the winner) in the Rose Bowl?
Fuck us, right?
First, I have hated Notre Dame since I was a small boy. I attended nearly every Michigan home game from the time I was 6 or 7 until I graduated from U of M and moved out of state. Some of my worst sports memories are the close losses to them in the 80s, and I especially remember listening to Ufer lose it when Harry Oliver beat us with that miracle kick. I went to Catholic schools from K to 12th grade and always was surrounded by Irish fans who gloated about their glorious Irish. I hate their arrogance. I hate their circus fight song. I hate their stupid mascot. I think Brian Kelly is a first rate a-hole. I have been rooting for them to lose all season.
But then something happened yesterday that made me realize they are far from the lowest of the low. Watching Jim Tressel get a standing ovation from the ohio fans and then get carried of the field by his former players made me realize that there is something much much worse than Notre Dame: the arrogance of cheating coaches and athletic departments and the "poor me" attitude of their fans. Gene Smith and Gordon Gee are still laughing their ways to the bank and denying that they did anything truly wrong. Alabama and the SEC play by different rules as well, and they and their fans believe bending (and sometimes outright breaking) the rules is just part of the game. The worst thing is that much of the media (especially the ohio media) has an "everyone is doing it, so it's not a big deal" attitude.
Notre Dame is arrogant, but if they go undefeated, two things will be certain: 1) Ohio has absolutely no shot at the AP championship or claims to any mythical championship; and 2) the SEC's streak can be halted.
This is not a perfect world, and sometimes you have to pick the lesser of two evils.
