Nice touch on putting his father's name on the jumbotron. Wonder if it actually is his birthday.

But yeah, when was the last time they sold out or even got close to it?

This season, homecoming against UVA drew 58,503 against a capacity of 64,767 (90.3%).

Average home attendance this season was 49,714 (76.8%).

Research shows that they sold out twice since 2018 - both times against FSU, in 2018 and 2022.

Yeah, I read an article about Ward a few days ago and it mentions that he wants somewhere around $4 million to sign with a school which was the result of many CF powers backing away. How much you wanna bet that Miami outbids everyone? That should make their 100 total fans very happy. Hope he likes playing in an empty stadium

Wow, even USC backing off him might explain that amount.

I would not be surprised to see Miami drop $4 million then but I also bet their stadium has more fans too knowing their team signed a big class, not like sold out of course but they will get more fans there

I love they are pulling from OSU though so I hope they keep on doing it! Make Day cry more

I read an article on Alabama's 247 site awhile back that Saban has really slowed down recruiting the Southern Florida region - which is a HS hotbed - because of the MASSIVE amount of disguised "NIL" that Miami is throwing at recruits. In fact, the only 4-5 star So. Florida kids currently committed to Georgia, OSU and Alabama are WR Smith to OSU and 4-star Bowens to Georgia and Smith might be on flip watch as everybody (including Miami) is after him

It's probably more nuanced than that.  Recruits and their handlers have a thirst for the cake, but every big time school has a refined story on how they will be developed into NFL grade prospects, why just look at how good you are now, we'll turn you into a star.  This makes grabbing the cash now so much easier.

Just hate to see it. I would love to see these people from Ohio go through a Rich Rod / Brady Hoke era of football. They might just melt down to center earth.

It's not Day - he's a dipshit that may be on his way out next year. OSU recruits itself and it's been that way since I was a student at UM in the late 60s and 70s. You could hire Elmer Fudd to coach OSU and they'll still have a top 10 to 15 class every year. I just can't figure out why all of those elite recruits want to play for Eddie Munster (with a beard).

BTW, my all-time favorite UM-OSU game was in 1969.......I was there and still remember that game like it was yesterday

I'll be the first to admit that missing on these 5* recruits due to our NIL model upset me quite of bit.  Not anymore.  The recruits that focus solely on monetary reward is just bad business and contributes to bad culture.  I appreciate what Harbaugh and his staff have done to build this winning, sustainable culture.

But is it sustainable? Michigan currently has 5 stars like JJ and Will Johnson to bolster roster. There are no 5stars on the horizon. Not an abundance of high 4 stars either, like there used to be. How far can developing 3 and low 4 stars take a team without some support from elite talent?

But I do agree and I appreciate Harbaugh's approach to get high character players. I'm just concerned it won't work long term without some blue chippers. Let's just hope Harbaugh sticks around. I do believe his fire to WIN will keep Michigan competitive with big boys, one way or another. If he goes to NFL, gulp.
