Noon games open thread

And we're opening with Dave Pasch, in the booth, without his color man, running down the timeline of Urban Meyer's issues. Talking about off-the-field stuff, clearly putting that out front.

I think the most interesting aspect of this game, and one that I'll be focusing on, is how well TCU's defense fares vs OSU's offense.

TCU, if I'm not mistaken, put together a very solid defensive effort in 2017 overall (I think I recall that they were top 10-15 in Defensive S&P?). Oregon State, meanwhile, was near the VERY bottom.

Maryland just lucked out, twice. First Hill throws right to a defender in double-coverage and it is dropped; next he throws to a wide-open receiver who gets hit with a taunting penalty that should have wiped out a long TD... and the pick up the flag. He was definitely slowing and looking back; maybe he didn't say anything and so they let him get away with it?

14-7 Maryland.

Tom Herman feels a peculiar warmth grazing his back pocket. "What IS that," he wonders.

Do some of these pass interference calls we've seen so far this weekend seem concerning? Looks like they're calling it very close and any contact is being called.

Dwayne Haskins is looking like the real deal. He can spin it and will be the best QB OSU have had in a long time. I know NFL scouts are raving about his potential as a top 10 pick.

You have got to be a 14 year old bucknut because there is not way someone over 14 would be on this board as much as you are. Especially in some of the message boards you show up in.

Maryland is taking it to Texas, on offense and defense.

They really are tougher and more aggressive.

Now if they can do it without killing people . . .

I absolutely disagree.  Nick is a game changer.  I haven't seen Gary destroy offensive lines yet.  He's a lot like Peppers, very good, but not a game changer.  I would say Devin Bush is your best player on defense.
