Night Game Thread

Well another year without our Wolverines making a sighting in the Big 10 championship game.  Sucks but Harbaugh will fix it within 2 years.   Go Badgers go.

We also have a very interesting Baylor v KSU game and a less interesting GA Tech v FSU game.  Normally it would be correct to root against FSU but in this case to keep out the Buckeyes we don't want the GA Tech upset.  An FSU loss brings up a debate between Baylor/OSU if they both win tonight for the 4th spot; and OSU would be a conference champion so they'd surely get the nod. 

If KSU & Wiscy both win + FSU loses (the most "fun" scenario) - we have quite a debate for spot #4.  It would be 2 loss Georgia Tech vs 2 loss Wiscy vs 2 loss KSU, with the 1st two being conference champions.   Whatever the case they'd be sacrificial lambs for Bama.

The tie-breaker was/is head to head as far as a bid to a bowl goes, but the Big12's stance I believe is they would be co-champions.

Its hard to believe the Big12 not having a title game may benefit them.

Conferences should have to have  a title game and play 9 conferene games.  None of this 8 game garbage that the SEC and ACC plan to pull.  The committee should punish teams/conferences for doing that.

I think he is the 2nd best coach in CFB behind only Saban (and ahead of Meyer).  KSU was an Indiana level program before he got there.  When he retired for a few years it immediately fell back to Indiana level.  So he built it once, then rebuilt it right back the second time.

And his average recruiting class is in the 60s.  Amazing.

Anyone else think Oregon's win last night was more impressive than Alabama? I can't stand listening to these commentators. I hope Oregon wins this National Championship.

When I saw them my first thought was that if JH comes home we will not see any alt uniformz under his watch.  Back to giant shoulder pads and only the classic look.

 

Edit:  this comment was meant to go just below under the comment about Baylor's helmets...not sure what happened.

Anyone think that the Baylor line student section thing is AMAZING? Think about the money they're sacrificing allowing students to get that prime seating location. (behind the opposing bench nonetheless) 

 

It's like the Maize Rage except for a football game with prime time seats. 

I wonder if other football schools will do that... That would be sweet in the Big House then again the new Baylor stadium is built around those student bleachers... kinda crazy.

Why do TV networks think we are so fascinated by the coin toss?  Taking a commercial break,  running the coin toss, and taking another commercial break after is ridiculous.  Just toss the stupid coin during one of the breaks.

I miss helmet decals on our helmets.  Get rid of almost all this crap jersey stuff we brought out the past 7 years - but bring back this.
