Nick Chomps The Bit

Baumgardner once again delivers insightful (parroted) Michigan Football. Read the article and discover what Nick and everybody else doesn't know concerning the status of Michigan Football until September 3.

It all begins with the Utes and our victory over them. Until then, enjoy the prognostications because why not.

The site omitted half of the posted content. I can see it on the 'edit' page but each time I seek to correct/restore the editor crashes.

Just know that I chomp, therefore I am. Sincere apologies. Next!

More substance off this horrible thread than all the arguable substance he appropriated off other sites. In my opinion as horrible thread originator.

I'm really confused by where the offense is taken in this whole thing.  The odds come out from a Vegas oddsmaker, someone posts a link here, and then if anyone else writes about them thereafter, they're ripping off this blog?

give me the points all day long.

Even under Hoke we never lost like that, even last year when they won the 'Ship and we absolutely stunk we kept the game close till the end in Columbus.

I wouldn't be surprised if we won that game,, Harbaugh will have had a whole year to install his system by then and we have tons of experience coming back.

Don't be shocked when we shut MSU fans up too and their smug ass coach.

I have no idea what the OP is trying to say about chomping but I do agree Nick is mostly a parrot.  Brendan Quinn on the other hand is an excellent writer on the bball side - he spent a week just traveling to all of Beilein's old haunts and doing his own independent research when writing a massive expose on Beilein's history.  He gives original content in many of his stories that is not found on many other sites/news outlets.  Nick - while seemingly a nice Spartan - just sort takes the same content you see everywhere else about UM football and puts a very similar spin on it as everyone else.   His main skill seems to be taking 3 quotes and regurgitating a 500 word article around them.

Now to be fair Fort Schembechler only doles out so  much info so all Michigan football reporters have the same limitations but for example some of the content here such as the recent story about the 2010 decommittment issues at Stanford is something a Quinn would think about and write but Nick does not.   Very little out of the box thinking IMO and with limits on access you have to do some extra work.  He has a platform for example he could have written an in depth story on every recruit in any incoming class - instead its 40 Peppers articles or 20 Green articles in those respective years.

Hey look I don't blame Nick too much - he is ridiculously hampered in terms of lack of creativity and rigor by his college education.  I am just proud whenever I see any Spartan able to write full sentence so in that regard Nick is an overachiever.  But I'd love a Quinn equivalent for football.

I'm too new to post (this morning new) but I wanted to relay a dream I had last night for the sake of Harbaugh. In a deep sleep, I had a Harbaugh moment that seemed not too unrealistic based on how the summer has gone so far. My dream took place in the Big House, right after a Nascar race. After a (football?) game, JMFH started fighting a Nascar driver at random. I think the summer of JMFH is starting to impede my thought process, and I would like to thank MGoBlog for that.

Nick's online chats are particularly bad. He offers no new information or insights and basically just says "only time will tell" to every question. He's lazy and not terribly insightful.

He is also the most depressing michigan twitter-er I follow. His in-game comentary is all about how bad Michigan is at sports.

And his writing has not improved since he first started. One would think we would get higher-quality journalists in Ann Arbor.
