NFL.com lists Peppers as the 6th "most freakish" CFB athelete
SIAP. My inexpert search of the Board didn't come across this. Apparently NFL.com (found via 247.com and CBS.com) recently named the 16 "most freakish" athletes for the upcoming 2016 collegiate football season. Jabrill came in sixth (listed as Athlete). No other B1G players were cited. Others of interest:
1. Myles Garrett, Texas A&M, DE
2. Adoree Jackson, Southern Cal, DB
3. Leonard Fournette, LSU, RB
14. Mike McGlinchey, Notre Dame, OL

Already posted. Maybe two days ago? Can't remember but it was a little while so it's long been pushed off the first page.

and must admit if they are, indeed, 5 players with more freakish ability than Pepper's I think I have yet to see them. I don't think, for instance, they included his ability to grasp instructions, synthesize same and if it's a new play, will almost always gain positive yardage. This is rare to have something explained instead of being introduced via the playbook and then to run it behind the O line a few times and be successful.
Further, I am not certain if these others can read an offensive play, set the blockers up where he wants them by where he positions himself and knowing what they will do, be able to have them hit air as he heads for the receiver or ball carrier. Reads a play quicker than anyone I've seen in awhile. But these are more in keeping with his football I.Q. instead of merely althetic ability.
I know, for instance, that Leanord has amazing speed and power and for a man that size, it's definitely freaky. Some damn fine and equally rare football players on this list.
I just don't think there is a player in college that can play as many different positions as well as Jabril can play them.
Peppers has played so little for us that I wish I've been able to have that factual opinion you have.
I don't recall this being posted on the board. Weird that peppers is only number 6.

It's early and they aren't accounting for the fact that peppers got faster and jumps higher now that he's not slowed down by those adidas uniforms. Plus, he added 150 pounds to moonlight occasionally at defensive tackle, but somehow is as nimble and quick on defense. At 355, running a 4.38 40 and leaping an impressive 51 inches, he's a dominating freak. But perhaps the most freaky thing he does on the field is split himself in half to make pep jr., an extra defender who is amazing in man coverage.
Thing is it seems that Peppers has only really scratched the surface of his potential. He's only had one full season at this level and I'm sure even he will admit that there were plays last year where he wasn't at his best.
Can't wait to see what year 2 of Peppers looks like..esp. under this innovative coaching staff.
On that note, what do you think the possibility is of him returning for 2017? He'll certainly be first or second round talent, but so was jourdain Lewis.

He needs to come back. He's too small for the NFL. Too slow.
/s
Do you think the scouts bought that?
I have no idea...and hopefully at this point neither does he. I just hope he's 100% focused on making this a great year and then when the time comes he follows his heart and makes the best decision for him....just (as in EXACTLY) like J. Lewis and J. Butt ;)
There is nobody more freakish that pepers in college football. They'll all see this coming year. He will leave Michigan with a national championship if he don't leave early.
He won't leave early
It's adorable that you think that.

I think Adoree should have been #1. The others seem to be based off of potential. Where Adoree has already put his freakish athleticism into results
I take it you havent seen Myles Garrett play? Or Leonard Fournette?
Sent from MGoBlog HD for iPhone & iPad
Garrett and Fournette are beasts but Garrett's body is more impressive than his play imo and Fournette isn't even the best running back in his class(Dalvin Cook has my vote).
Their accomplishments were only in football at the collegiate level. Adoree is out winning championships in track too, while playing in all phases of football.
Don't get me wrong, Garrett and Fournette are silly.
SIXTH??!?!
Peppers has to be top 1 or 2 on a list like that. Teams change their whole scheme based on concerns about the guy
LOL
...you're not going to double Garrett or help with a TE or RB? Kick away from Jackson or ID him on offense? Stack the box against Fournette? Etc.
All of the guys ahead of him make you scheme and gameplan for them just like teams do for Peppers. And I don't know if teams do for Peppers defensively...I'd ID Lewis and stay away from him before I worried about Peppers. Hell the DL as a whole scares me more if I'm an offensive coordinator.
But with the ball in his hands...he's a fucking problem that no one wants to deal with.
Christian McCaffrey has to be top 5. He not on this list.
Yes

I have to agree... I think Peppers is rated well on this list. But I think we would all agree at some point you are splitting hairs...
I also agree that Christian McCaffrey should be on this list! He is the biggest snub of all.
That's a surprise...McCaffrey isn't even on the list and he's a hell of an athlete.
Welcome to Gameplannjmg for a Freak 101. All teams do that for every player on the list. What's your point?

Hoke telling Adoree Jackson that he couldn't run track as a freshman was absurd.
Is that for real? Ugh. Isn't track pretty much additional training? I mean swimming in a pool is more risky than running around a track is it not? What was the dang concern?
Fork Lifts.
I laughed. he might be a freak, but he's not blue twisted steel.
That's not why he chose USC over Mich

And that's not what he said, coincidentally.
Strange but an actual occurence to your rhetorical question that at least on the insurance scale of things not to concern yourself with, sometimes happen.
True, but I think he was always SC bound. We probably just end up #2 rather than #4 or #5.
He was never not going to USC, big time players from Poly and Serra go to SC, Donovan Warren not withstanding, it is the way of things.
Sent from MGoBlog HD for iPhone & iPad
I agree. All of those players go to USC, except for the ones that don't.
I threw that out there as the counter example everyone cites, as if one recruit from over ten years ago invalidates the point.
Somebody post that gif of Jackson gettin smoked by the ND wide receiver!

1.Garrett
2. Adoree
3. #5
...I'm not going to argue you...but I think this kid qualifies as a freak. He carried that AWFUL LSU offense and everyone on earth knew where the ball was going.
Fournette is a beast but that's my top 3.
Yea I go Garrett than Fournette... I don't think perople understand that he is just as quick and faster than Peppers.
He is Adrian Peterson

But faster

What in the flying fuck was #28 trying to do in that top gif?
You know that was Blake Countess?
Sent from MGoBlog HD for iPhone & iPad
Countess wore #24. He's shown in the bottom gif.
Commence the homering that Peppers deserves to be higher based on nothing. But Sparty fans are the ones that complain about disrespekt. Some people on this blog really need to take a serious look in the mirror.
