Is it West Virginia? Maybe in the sense that someone may call everything they don't like "very West Virginia" is a thing ... but as far as I can see, and I'm not WVU uniform scholar, they haven't worn this combination in the last five years. And when they did wear it most recently (2018ish) it was a spring game/practice special.
I only bring it up to say that I don't get 'very West Virginia' vibes out of Blue on White as much as I do when I see Maize on Maize. That said, again, not a Mountaineer uni-scholar.
Some recent WVU combination lineup announcements:
For the most part Uniformz are something that second teir schools like Maryland and Oregon do to get attention. Shouldn't go unmentioned that the major donors for those schools are the founders of Under Armor and Nike. ...but it sort of works for those schools. MD's crazy flag lends itself to mashups. But I don't think it works for schools like WV. Who are you Cal? It's like a kid picking out garanimals to see what matches.
Iconic schools like Michigan, OSU, PSU, Texas, USC, Alabama and Georigia and even ND shouldn't mess with their uniforms. ND's green jerseys that they pull out to win big games are a fun gimmick every 5-10 years, but they become unspecial if you do it every year or multiple times a year.
I wish they made adult Garanimals.
I have a friend that is color blind and his wife arranges his clothes in the closet in pairs. She calls them his garanimals.

Yes to an extent. Don Nehlen came from Michigan and helped adopt their primary colors to mimic Michigan as well as tried to develop the program in the same vein as Bo. There are articles regarding this but I'm too drunk to look them up and post.

I'd say more like he's wearing a union suit underneath. It's OK on the football field given the vicissitudes of nature, but it drives me batty when our basketball team does it. We look like the footy pajama brigade.

It's fine. It's not somehow gonna be pure fire or complete trash just because we took a color we've used for pants before and combined it with a jersey we pretty much always use.
People who think it's amazing, as well as people who think it sucks, are all overreacting.

Whatever the kids choose to wear, I'm down for it. They the ones who represent the school. So, if they wear that combination, are the people not attending the game or watching that week?
I actually like that combo. The only combo I don’t care for is the all Maize we were gonna wear @ PSU.

I don't mind it. Every once in a while it's fine to do something unique. I really like the maize top and navy pants that every program besides football and basketball wear. Everybody wants to pull out their pitchforks for that idea.

Not surprising. Practice uniforms periodically make use of old uniform elements in unusual combinations. There's footage of Bo in practice with players in blue jerseys with white pants, too. Michigan certainly never considered using white pants with blue jerseys on the field.

Every time someone mentions the bumblebee uniform, I think about the letter Adidas sent to Dave Brandon saying (begging) they are willing to let Michigan out of the contract (implying that Dave Brandon was just too involved.)
I'm looking at a new uniform for this fall as well.
I don’t like the white pants with yellow stripe. The blue tops with maize pants are my favorite and then I like the blue on blue. I’m not a fan of the white on white at all. White top with maize pants are ok.
