According to my informal research, Iowa is #1, Wisconsin is #2, and then there's a Grand Canyon-sized gap to whoever is #3.

Even if it’s not a mystery as to why, Notre Dame’s non-appearance is still really interesting. Even more interesting if they just lied on the survey.

Fake news. There is no way Minnesota and Wisconsin are not tied for first.

This list is a joke if OSU is not in the top 10. I've been to 3 OSU games in Columbus and I've never seen more empty cans of old Milwaukee and natural light in my life!

Going to a game knowing beyond a reasonable doubt you’re going to have your heart ripped out is cause for drinking. I’d drink a lot too if I was a Nebraska fan.

Not only does the Nebraska fan base drink the most, but they outhit all other fan bases too.

I’m with Billy Ray. That this list does not have Wisconsin #1 is proof of its inaccuracy. Nobody comes close.

USC that high - I can see kinda it, but with the average being elevated by some very devoted outliers.

I dunno about this list. I mean , I’m sure all these schools fans/alum can crush some serious drinks, but all college game days i have been to across a lot of pac 12 schools , and handful of big ten schools…feels all the same to me. Lol.   “Splitting hairs” type of ranking to me.

My experience in Lincoln certainly confirmed the notion that they drink a lot, and get started pretty early on it.  However, I will defend to my last breath how good natured they are.  They can be as drunk as they want to be, but are still unfailingly courteous. If they factored in drinking + ill-mannered douchebaggery, it would be a much different looking list.  MSU, PSU, and OSU would be shoo-ins for the final four.

When you say miss the game do you mean don’t show up or watch it and don’t recall?

I mean, they do grow them pretty big in Nebraska, but there's more to drinking than just size.

The fact that Wazzu doesn't even appear makes this highly suspect, IMO. My wild-ass guess would have been Wazzu and Wiscy in the top two spots in some order.
