4 Duke - 13 UNC-Wilmington and 9 Butler - 8 Texas Tech lead us off

I'm rooting for chaos

also gives us the most possible time to enjoy the tournament before turning bitter after a brutal loss.

(Seriously though, I think it is a perfect start time for a "First Four" team.  Michigan does not have to sit around until 10:00 on Friday with butterflies because they already got rid of them).

I am off tomorrow, which means I'll be watching games all day starting at noon (and of course watching games tonight...right now I have the TuneIn app providing my coverage while at the office). Very excited, I am.

opponent tomorrow is alcohol too early.  I thought about taking the day off but I would meet people at the bar and "festivities" would begin very early.  I would be asleep in the bathtub with my socks on my hands and a pissed off wife by the start of the M game.  Decided I am going to work late and pick up a pizza on the way home.

Well, Duke isn't exactly killing it in the first half here, but they've plenty of time to troll UNC-Wilmington yet. They are trolling, right? I mean, 4-seed Duke is generally unhappy, bow-out-early Duke, but against UNC-Wilmington? Wait, Eastern Michigan in 1996.

There needs to be a "Bad Things That Happened To Duke Hoops" special one day.

Wow. I thought UNCW would cool off but they're right there.

Hoping Grayson Allen gets an elbow to the face at some point. It's like a program standard to always have a hateable white guy in the starting 5 at all times

Could Grayson Allen play for any team BUT Duke?

He definitely meets all the "Dukey" requirements:

1. Punchable face? - check

2. Dirty player? - check

3. Extremely annoying preppy name? - check

4. Beneficiary of every call by officials? - check

he could possibly play for Wisconsin, or the Notre Dame football team.  He also would have found a home with the 1990's Indiana Hoosiers if he was capable of time travel.  Those were the only other possible landing spots for a guy with that resume.

This is why I can't believe a people were seriously complaining about an NCAA tournament victory last night! Crazy things happen. Tulsa was playing their last organized game of basketball for many seniors, of course you get their best shot. Never complain about victories in the tourney.

I should not hate Duke, but I can't help it.

Reasons why I shouldn't:

1) Niece played lacrosse there

2) The athletic department has been tremendously gracious to our family, specifically my mom (my niece's grandma), even inviting her to Duke's men's basketball trip to China and Dubai a few years back, which she went to.

Reasons why I should:

1) It's Duke.

2) Coach K (though I love him as Olympic coach)

3) Laettner, Hurley, Hill, Allen

What about Kyle Singler?  Mike Dunleavy?  Jon Scheyer? Greg Paulus? Wojo? JJ Redick?

There's a long, long list of annoying white guys from Duke to hate. Just thinking of all these guys makes me cringe.

One of my fondest NCAA memories was sitting next to a Dukie acquaintence as Jason Kidd and Cal knocked rat-boy Hurley and Grant Hill out of the tournament. Kidd was unbelievable.

Duke is due to get upset this year.  Two years ago it was Mercer, two years before that it was Lehigh.  Hopefully they keep following that every-other trend.

Allen may be worse at defending dribble penetration than Michigan.  Now that is saying something.

Iowa State - Iona about to start.  Family here are a tad nervous, as usual.  At least this year, Iowa State won't be the first team bounced from the tournament like last year.
