NCAA Men - Sunday games, Will any B1G team reach the Sweet 16?

Submitted by Amazinblu on March 19th, 2023 at 1:12 PM

The first two rounds of the Dance conclude today.  Two B1G teams remain - the Spartans and Hoosiers.

Eight games today - with tickets being punches and a Cinderella or two trying to advance.

Will any B1G team make the Sweet Sixteen?  What are you thinking of the games that are underway?

And, fwiw, it’s just not the same without a significant rooting interest.

Enjoy…

P.S. The women’s team plays LSU tonight - 7:30 pm EDT tip-off on ESPN.  Go Blue!

Long gone are the days of Michigan playing IU for the National Championship. No worthy B1G teams out there-questionable whether there were any when the dance started.

I'm beat up so bad as a Michigan hoops fan that I'm not even worried about what MSU does this year. Years past I would sweat MSU games and get all stressed out. However it does feel good knowing that sure they could beat Marquette, but I know MSU team sucks and they are not a threat.

I'm in a March Madness pool where you draft players.  Not a bracket-based contest.

I've got players on Miami and Marquette, so those are my rooting interests!

Illinois, Purdue, Northwestern, Wisconsin and Staee are the schools that didn't vote for us to go to 1974 Rose Bowl and sent OSU instead .  I have no problem if any of them lose.  Only one of them is left and I hope they lose.

IU has a decent chance of advancing today. On paper it looks like Marquette is much better than MSU, but I have a sinking feeling that they are due for a rare second week advancement. Overall, B10 has been pretty much in-line with what we expected this year, quantity over quality

Certainly hope that the ladies make the S16 though, beat LSU!

MSU has a cakewalk path. I wasn't sold on Marquette. They are a decent team but a weak 2 seed. The committee also put MSU in Columbus instead of sending them further away like they should do for a 7 seed.

College basketball sucks, in that players don't stick around like they used to.

But it's actually more competitive now.  Not in Sweet 16: Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas. When was the last time that happened?

I still like Marquettes chances if they can keep it to around a 10 point game at half. They have played about as bad as possible and MSU is playing out of their minds including Hoggard hitting a three.
