NCAA Men - Sunday games, Will any B1G team reach the Sweet 16?
The first two rounds of the Dance conclude today. Two B1G teams remain - the Spartans and Hoosiers.
Eight games today - with tickets being punches and a Cinderella or two trying to advance.
Will any B1G team make the Sweet Sixteen? What are you thinking of the games that are underway?
And, fwiw, it’s just not the same without a significant rooting interest.
Enjoy…
P.S. The women’s team plays LSU tonight - 7:30 pm EDT tip-off on ESPN. Go Blue!
Long gone are the days of Michigan playing IU for the National Championship. No worthy B1G teams out there-questionable whether there were any when the dance started.
With our luck, it will be MSU…
I'm beat up so bad as a Michigan hoops fan that I'm not even worried about what MSU does this year. Years past I would sweat MSU games and get all stressed out. However it does feel good knowing that sure they could beat Marquette, but I know MSU team sucks and they are not a threat.
Word. Appreciate your kind thoughts.
If a Big Ten team must advance to the Sweet 16, let it be SoCal
UCLA’s already in the Sweet 16!
B-1-G! B-1-G! B-1-G!
Hopefully just IU, if any.
MSU has no shot and Marquette wins by 15+. I think Indiana beats Miami.
No way . That pro MSU crowd will make it a hell of a game . Izzo still can coach a d has the guard from hey to rim who is Marquette’s only weakness on D
It will not be a pro MSU crowd. I was there and the amount of Marquette fans was at least equal to MSU fans. You are underestimating how well Marquette travels. Watch the Big East tournament they were one of the largest fan bases there.
You're wrong on both. It WAS an MSU crowd and they won.
i hate myself for picking sparty in this one, but so far it's showing as a good decision, up 10 toward the end of the first half. that said, we all know how they gave up a 13 pt lead in about 1 1/2 minutes at the end of the B10 season.
I'm in a March Madness pool where you draft players. Not a bracket-based contest.
I've got players on Miami and Marquette, so those are my rooting interests!
My team was gutted by Arizona and Kansas. Then I had Miller from Bama in the first round and he gets a goose egg in round 1. And the Duke guy who was hurt Friday at practice. Needless to say, I'll probably end up towards the bottom this year.
I hope not. I’d rather the B1G look bad than cheer for IU or MSU.
The IU-Miami and UK-KSU matchups look to be the best games on tap today.
I'm not sure MSU can hang with Marquette.
#1seed Purdue is a lock....what, never mind.
EGJ, I wonder if I’m the only person with a perfect bracket…. (jk)
Msu with home type crowd will get it done .
Shut yer whore mouth or we'll lock you in Curwood Castle.
Indifferent to Indiana but want staee to lose and lose big
Pretty clear that the B10 was not deep this year, just relatively uniformly mediocre
Let's go Golden Eagles
Illinois, Purdue, Northwestern, Wisconsin and Staee are the schools that didn't vote for us to go to 1974 Rose Bowl and sent OSU instead . I have no problem if any of them lose. Only one of them is left and I hope they lose.
Mods should sticky this comment so everyone always remembers who our real conference allies are.
Never forget.
I wonder if Tschetter is related to Oscar Tshiebwe?
The resemblance is uncanny.
Nowell for KSU is so much fun to watch.
indiana is the only big ten team i picked in my bracket to the sweet 16
IU has a decent chance of advancing today. On paper it looks like Marquette is much better than MSU, but I have a sinking feeling that they are due for a rare second week advancement. Overall, B10 has been pretty much in-line with what we expected this year, quantity over quality
Certainly hope that the ladies make the S16 though, beat LSU!
i was not impressed at all with marquette on friday. also, keep in mind they lost to wisconsin at home.
Of course MSU has this kind of start
Marquette off to a slow start. Let’s hope they get going.
Down goes another SEC team, fuck Kentucky!
The Izzo slobberfest is already off and running
MSU has a cakewalk path. I wasn't sold on Marquette. They are a decent team but a weak 2 seed. The committee also put MSU in Columbus instead of sending them further away like they should do for a 7 seed.
Remember when Belein used to destroy Shaka Smart? I swear if his name was Bob Smith he’d never get hired
What about Bob Smart?
College basketball sucks, in that players don't stick around like they used to.
But it's actually more competitive now. Not in Sweet 16: Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas. When was the last time that happened?
Michigan is usually on that list also
I just checked and none of the big four (Duke, UNC, Kansas, Kentucky) were in the Sweet 16 in 2021. So it's been more competitive for some time now.
or 2020. lol
JFC get your heads out your asses Marquette
Marquette couldn’t hit water if they fell out of a boat. They look like us shooting 3s.
Msu starting to cool off but Marquette is ice cold. 3 fg’s made so far.
Prosper has to win the matchup with Hauser and their center has to quit turning the ball over.
Is this game in East Lansing? Seems like
the refs think it is.
I still like Marquettes chances if they can keep it to around a 10 point game at half. They have played about as bad as possible and MSU is playing out of their minds including Hoggard hitting a three.
Lead is down to 3 by MSU with < 1 minute left in half.
Never heard that Shaka got into coaching because he wanted to be like Izzo until today. I guess that explains why I hate him too.
