I would gladly take him and Herron
December 2nd, 2022 at 8:57 PM ^
And that linebacker from Nebraska. Allen the RB from Wisconsin and call it.
December 2nd, 2022 at 9:09 PM ^
With Cade gone and Bowman moving on I'd like to get a transfer QB. I know we have Warren, but would like someone with a few starts under their belt.
December 2nd, 2022 at 9:23 PM ^
That is highly unlikely. Nobody is transferring in to play backup.
December 2nd, 2022 at 10:00 PM ^
The irony of this being a comment in response to a comment about Bowman leaving…
December 2nd, 2022 at 10:01 PM ^
Bowman kind of did
December 3rd, 2022 at 6:54 AM ^
Yes, but what he did was clearly the exception to the rule. Guys transfer so they can play.
December 2nd, 2022 at 10:32 PM ^
Best chance we have is to find a Group of 5 QB who was a marginal starter and going pro in something other than sports and has a Covid year or something
December 2nd, 2022 at 10:33 PM ^
Have you heard of Alan Bowman? John O'Korn? Jake "Freakin" Rudock?
December 2nd, 2022 at 10:52 PM ^
I have no idea who Alex Bowman is, so no. O’Korn transferred in with the intention of starting, he was simply beaten out. And Rudock transferred in because he lost his job at Iowa and started immediately.
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:03 AM ^
Exactly. All three are former starting QB's who transferred in.
December 3rd, 2022 at 11:41 AM ^
No, Alex Bowman doesn’t exist. And nobody said anything about former starting QBs transferring in. They said QBs don’t transfer in to be backups. The two former starting QBs that actually exist that transferred in lost their starting jobs at their previous school, and transferred here with the intent of starting. One succeeded at that and one failed. None of them transferred in to be a 5* QB’s backup.
The premise is about QBs transferring in to be a backup. Not former starters that transferred here.
December 2nd, 2022 at 10:57 PM ^
Nobody
December 3rd, 2022 at 9:23 AM ^
We could use another great RB next year to take some of the load off Donovan.
December 2nd, 2022 at 7:51 PM ^
Will his Stanford credits ever transfer to Michigan? I just dunno...
December 2nd, 2022 at 8:38 PM ^
It's going to take months to analyze this by our admissions. Sadly.
December 2nd, 2022 at 10:55 PM ^
Three full years at Stanford, there’s a chance he’s a grad transfer
December 2nd, 2022 at 7:52 PM ^
When has portalling in offensive lineman ever worked for us?
December 2nd, 2022 at 7:54 PM ^
When have we portalled for OL?
December 2nd, 2022 at 9:39 PM ^
Our center. Not sure if serious?
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:20 AM ^
Poster has VA in the internettername. I think they know.
December 2nd, 2022 at 7:55 PM ^
If the coaches can center their focus, it may work out.
December 2nd, 2022 at 7:56 PM ^
Olu Oluwatimi?
December 2nd, 2022 at 7:58 PM ^
BAM!!!!
December 2nd, 2022 at 7:58 PM ^
Hopefully your team reads the situation as well as you tomorrow. Go Lakers!
December 2nd, 2022 at 8:02 PM ^
Well he was missing the /s so I thought I would lend a hand. Go Dawgs!
December 2nd, 2022 at 7:59 PM ^
Pretty sure that was the intended reference.
December 2nd, 2022 at 8:43 PM ^
Bingo. I thought it would be obvious but I should've known better haha
December 2nd, 2022 at 7:58 PM ^
The Moore we try, the Moore it will work.
December 2nd, 2022 at 8:03 PM ^
Awesome! Chris should have stayed another year.
December 2nd, 2022 at 9:14 PM ^
Except he may have been the 4th best interior DL on this team.
December 3rd, 2022 at 11:45 AM ^
Legitimately the worst early declaration I can remember, regardless of sport. Maybe he thought he'd fall down the depth chart as BlueWolverine02 alluded to, but I really doubt he expected to be usurped by a true freshman Boise State decommit. I think his plan was always to go pro after his junior year and he just didn't want to pivot when results weren't up to expectations. Still wish him the best.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:47 PM ^
It was a while ago, but both Ernest Shazor and Donovan Warren (both DBs) jumped ship after their junior years, were undrafted, and only Shazor actually played in a regular season game (just a few). Guys listen to the wrong people, and Christopher did too, though hope him well as he was a steady player here, just not the 5 star recruit we thought we were getting.
December 2nd, 2022 at 8:15 PM ^
Does being an OL at the Michigan of the west mean what it used to? Their offense is pretty bad.
December 2nd, 2022 at 8:19 PM ^
I thought Harvard was the Michigan of the East, so Stanford is the Michigan of the West...ok seems like we balanced out.
December 2nd, 2022 at 8:27 PM ^
That 2019 recruiting cycle was filled with second place finishes, especially with highly rated OL. How crazy would it be to have Myles Hinton and Andrew Gentry together on the line four years later.
December 2nd, 2022 at 8:56 PM ^
Best duo since Rogers n Hammerstein? 1986
December 2nd, 2022 at 8:57 PM ^
Persi and Tristan Bounds are pretty good as well. We'll see on center but the rest for next year seem solid.
December 3rd, 2022 at 7:01 AM ^
The staff loves Crippen at Center and he was going to start this year. When the Football Gods gave us Olu, they made sure to get a red shirt on Crippen this year so that he would have 3 years more years of eligibility. Anderson and Atteberry were centers in High School, so there is plenty of depth.
December 2nd, 2022 at 8:30 PM ^
Like the sound of this. Opportunity knocks.
December 2nd, 2022 at 9:38 PM ^
I like the sound of this. Obscurity Knocks.
December 2nd, 2022 at 8:31 PM ^
Chris Hinton leaving early remains a very strange decision.
December 2nd, 2022 at 8:38 PM ^
He wouldn’t have started on this team. Similar to why Gray left early too I imagine.
December 2nd, 2022 at 8:43 PM ^
Both were returning starters. Hinton probably gets passed by Jenkins but no guarantee. Gray wasn't getting passed by Green, who was still starting over Johnson until he got assaulted for being in a tunnel.
So Gray would've started over Johnson as well.
December 2nd, 2022 at 9:43 PM ^
He could’ve transferred, then. I’m not sure where he got the idea the NFL was looking for him.
December 2nd, 2022 at 10:03 PM ^
I more get the impression he wasn’t sold on football long term
December 2nd, 2022 at 10:36 PM ^
He wouldn't have started in college.....so he left for the NFL? Hmmmm.....
December 2nd, 2022 at 8:41 PM ^
We need a LT.
I believe he plays RT, but if he can play the left side...let him an Persi compete for the starting job. I'll definitely trust the winner of that battle.
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:24 AM ^
You can't forget about Barnhart. The coaches love him, and they didn't bump him for Jones when he recovered. He has some respect around the league too.
December 2nd, 2022 at 8:41 PM ^
I'm not sure if it was mentioned but Western Michigan's Andre Carter entered the portal.
He's a DE who went to Cass Tech and was 2nd team All MAC.
